Christmas Eve Dinner
Pumpkin soup garnished with truffle oil and a creme fraiche “Christmas tree”.

An Intimate Christmas Dinner Party
For this Christmas dinner party I chose a festive Ralph Lauren plaid table cloth. The traditional red plaid sets an undeniable holiday tone. When using a table cloth with strong color and a busy pattern it’s good to use dishes with a simple design. I put glass hurricanes, purchased at a craft store, in the console candlesticks so that I could use tea lights instead of tapers. At the top of the dinner plate you can see a rare Francis I ice cream fork. The dishes are Lenox Federal Cobalt. The sterling silver flatware is Reed and Barton Francis I. The soup bowls are vintage by Schumann, Bavaria. The crystal is Miller-Rogaska Queen pattern.

A Holiday Dinner Party with a Musical Theme
Focus on the centerpiece
For this holiday table setting I used a vintage violin as the centerpiece. My mother in law played this violin as a young girl at the San Francisco World Fair on Treasure Island in 1939. I placed a Baccarat Bambous candlestick on either side. The porcelain monkeys are from my monkey band by Carl Thieme, Saxon Porcelain Manufactory.

It’s typical to see a lot of rustic Thanksgiving tablescapes — from branches to pine cones, and red, yellow, and orange…
