So I just finished reading System Collapse. Excellent story, but what really tickled me was the end when Holism showed up, because:
1. Holy shit, there are more ARTs out there; ain't that just terrifying.
2. ART and Holism have serious beef and it's so fucking funny.
3. Holism keeps pinging Murderbot, and when that doesn't work, because ART keeps telling MB to ignore it, it eventually tries to get a foot in the door via an infopacket. The covo basically goes like this:
Holism: message packet, tagged: infrastructure proposals.
Murderbot: I'm a security consultant. I specialize in security. Planetary/infrastructure rebuilding and clean up is not my job.
Holism: I could help you learn about it, if you're interested ;-)
ART, to MB: Stop talking to it.
Murderbot: I just think it's bored.
ART: I don't give a shit.
:'D lmao. Ok so there was no ;-) in the original text, but it was definitely implied, which ART definitely caught, and Murderbot definitely did not.
Murderbot then asks Three if it'll go and listen to Holism talk about planetary infrastructure to it, and Three is into educational material and actually does want to do that, so in a completely unconscious move I think Murderbot just played kismet for another Terrible Transport Horror, letting it get its own rogue SecUnit.
