Chapter 3 of my hollowheart fanfic is done! I may take a while for the next chapter maybe I'll get to work on it tomorrow who knows, I'll just wait for my brain juice to replenish, (and unfortunately I have this annoying migraine), in the mean time, have this messy drawing (the brush is so messy omfgosh)

I Love Your Heart

Notes: "mo ghràdh" is scottish gaelic for "my love/my darling"

Word Count: exactly 400! nice!

The sun streamed into the little boat cabin. A gentle breeze fanned the curtains through the slightly open porthole window. It was warm and the sea air smelt like salt. Waves kissed the sides of the boat and somewhere, distantly, a bird called. Jake slowly opened his eyes, blinking against the light. Enoch grunted and shifted in his arms. Jake moved to get up, much to his annoyance.

"No," he whined, voice husky, "not yet, it's too early."

"Come on, baby, it's time for breakfast."

"Screw you." Enoch growled and Jake laughed. He tried to get up again but Enoch rolled over, effectively pinning him against the bed. It was like having a cat lie on top of you. A very big, very grumpy cat who did not like mornings. "Not yet." he repeated adamantly, moving until he was comfortable. He looked like he was about to say something then stopped and leaned closer, pressing his ear against Jake's chest.

"What are you doing?"

"Listening."

"To my heart?"

"Yeah." Jake buried his hand in Enoch's silky curls, scratching lightly at his scalp with the tips of his fingers. "They all sound a bit different." Enoch said after a moment of peaceful silence. "People's hearts."

"Really?" Jake said in disbelief.

"Not for you." he clarified. "It's a dead-riser thing."

"That's really cool. What does mine sound like?"

"Can't really describe it with words. It sounds nice, though. Really nice. It's my favourite heart." Jake blushed and pressed a kiss to the top of Enoch's head.

"Your heart's my favourite heart, too." Enoch laughed.

"You're such a sap." Jake stared at Enoch with a look of mock hurt.

"Wha- that's not fair, you started it!"

"Yeah." Enoch agreed and let his eyes drift closed again.

"No, Enoch, you can't fall asleep on me cuz then we'll both be stuck here."

"Sounds like a you problem." Enoch slurred.

"No, get up!"

"I am, I am." Enoch protested, though he definitely wasn't. "I love you, mo ghràdh."

"Aww, I love you too, baby."

"I love your heart." Jake smiled and kissed Enoch again. "Can I play with it when you're done?" Jake laughed, fairly sure Enoch was was kidding. Fairly.

"Not creepy at all, sweetie. Not creepy at all."

"You love it."

"Yeah, I do." Jake smiled at the man sprawled across his chest, wondering how he could've gotten so lucky. "I really do."
