for the reading list prompt: anything related to Emmanuel Levinas' ethics of the Other, especially on having an idea of Infinity through receiving the Other. in another direction, there's a quote by Gerhard Tersteegen that goes, "a God comprehended is no God." if you know of any works that approach those concepts, I'd love your recommendations.

This one is going to be shorter but everything by Jorge Luis Borges. Some particular stories of his that approach this are “The Aleph” “The Immortal” “Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius” and “The Library of Babel”.

GOD I could go on about this. I worry the same thing when write him but then I remember when they were in the barn w Peter’s social worker, how he took Will’s face in his hands like he couldn’t help overstepping that physical boundary—I remember the Saint Teresa level of ecstatic he was when Will pulled him in at the end of TWOTL and just. realize it’s hard to overdo that.

YEP. YEP!!  Honestly like just imagining how happy his stupid little cannibalistic heart would be if Will ever was the one to reach out and casually hold his hand or fix his collar—I seriously think he might explode. I try to remind myself that Hannibal did this to himself tbh, and I am not accountable for how broken he gets by Will’s actions, both good and bad. THAT’S JUST CANON, BABEY!!!

5. how would you describe hannibal to someone interested in watching the show?

It’s a a blood-soaked, violent and tender Gothic romance that examines what it means to be human and whether to be human— truly human— means you are alone. About confronting the dark rooms within ourselves with the people we love.
