These are the pork and leek #dumplings from Chin's Kitchen in the Hollywood District. The dumpling skins are wonderful - soft and fresh but sturdy enough to hold the pork and leek filling. The filling is less compact than what you'd find in your average potsticker, and tastes porky without being too rich. The leek adds more of a grassy element than an onion flavor, which lightens it overall even more. The inside is a little juicy, too (but not like an XLB). It comes with a thin sauce that is full of minced garlic. It adds a nice touch, though the dumplings are quite good in their own. Chin's recently changed owners and the food is light years from what it was - sad, drab American-style Chinese food. The new owners are from Harbin in Northeast China and they are offering more Dongbei dishes, which makes me very happy, since that is my favorite regional cuisine from that country. I can't wait to come back and try more things! #portland #pdx #portlandfood #pdxfood #pdxeats #eeeeeats #eaterpdx #eeeeeatspdx #foodbeast #eattheworld #tastingtable #igpdx #buzzfeast #feastagram #foodstagram #food #eat #delicious #chinesefood #dongbei #hollywooddistrictpdx #bridgetownbites (at Chins Kitchen)
