So, Lake Valor... Sure was a lot of water? I'm not really sure what I expected to find, but, uh. Spoiler alerts, what I found was water. So, search for my Special Pokemon continues, and I'll... probably have to actually talk to people to find him. Ugh. I'm starting off my search in Oreburgh. There's a museum there that probably has some leads for what I'm looking for, and... Dunno, just got a feeling that as a city that's all about burrowing deep into the earth and laying bare its most hidden resources, they may just have stumbled across a thing or two I'm looking for.

Currently staying at a sick hotel right above the mining site. You can hear the sounds of motors and conveyor belts gently purring deep into the night from my room. It reminds me a lot of home.

Just landed in Jubilife

Sinnoh's fucking cold, huh? I didn't think the temperature would be quite this different, but... Damn, I'm shivering.

So, I'm sure most of the people reading this blog have already heard my plans up here in person, but just to recap: Goal of this trip is a field stress testing for a new product aimed at trainers. There is a very specific regional pokemon that I'm looking to pit up against my new toy, but he won't be the easiest to find.

I'll be documenting my travels throughout Sinnoh up here partially because it's Interesting Content and clickbait, partially for historical memorandum (because this product is going to change the world if it works), and partially because it's always good practice to document your process when you're trying to demonstrate the reliability of a new piece of tech~ This won't strictly be a Pokemon League run like the last field test I did... damn, almost ten years ago now? But I am expecting to be making a lot of visits to the local League Gyms for other reasons, so... Fuck it, might decide to get my badges while I'm at it.

Currently my team consists of my Cubone, Annabella, and my Shedinja. Equipment on hand is:

The 2.0 model of my old NFC-enabled pokeball and portable PC system (now with much better failsafe procedures in case of transmission error!)

A holocaster with the PkDX open-source pokedex app (shout outs to Jimmy at Self-Instructive!)

A custom recon quadcopter with a pair of hand-built FPV goggles

A laser sintered, stainless steel 3D printed club for Annabella~

Checking into my hotel tonight, and I think tomorrow morning I'm going to head out to Lake Valor to start my search.

Apart from the gym leader groveling, it… kind of is, actually. You could be a little less dramatic about it, though.

Oh, and I caught a Litwick during the trial too, and she did a bang-up job with the gym leader, as well. Kabu’s Ninetails wasn’t able to land a single hit that she wasn’t able to absorb.

Hello everyone! Cait here!

We just beat our second gym! Nessa’s challenge was a real puzzle - literally! It really took a lot of thinking to make our way through it!

Once we were able to get past it, though, the battle was a piece of cake! Arte’s new Pumpkaboo really pulled his weight in that fight, and we breezed right through it!

And!! It seems that Chairman Rose has taken an interest in us, and he treated us to the most wonderful seafood dinner at a nearby restaurant in celebration! I don’t think I’ll ever look at Krabby legs the same way again, it’ll just never be the same after that experience.

Nevermind! Our first gym battle is actually in Turffield I’m not very bright! Motostoke was where the opening ceremony was held!

Cait got really emotional being able to step on stadium turf for the first time. She was a right mess as soon as we got back to our hotel. Big sis has always idolized league trainers and she has a huge amount of memorabilia back home, and putting our jersey on for the first time…

Hehheh. It was really tempting, actually, to think of some sort of prank to ruin the moment right then and there, but I wouldn’t do that to her.

We also got in a bit of a tussle with another goth chick and her harem? Wasn’t anything we weren’t able to tidy up right quick, but it was a bit of a hassle, anyway. Wouldn’t even tell me how to join, so I could follow them around and fawn after her, too.

We have a full team now! We have a Sobble named Sobsob, a Yamper named Hartbutt, a Wooloo named Inanna, a Nickit named Kit, a Metapod named Caileigh, and, umm… a Rookidee named >:O, I guess.

We also got our endorsement from Leon to participate in the pokemon League! All we had to do was bully his dork little brother for a bit, and that was well enough to impress him~

We’re stuck at a train station in the Wild Area right now, but we’re going to push on foot the rest of the way to Motostoke and fight our first gym battle!

Hii everyone!! We got our first pokemon!! They were all super rowdy and they looked like really good friends when Lee was showing them to us, and I felt a little bit bad, but at least they’ll be seeing each other often, right?

There was a really cute bunny pokemon with big big feet that was really cute, but then one of them got bonked on the head by a toy and started crying and I felt REALLY bad and I had to adopt it! So now we have a Sobble now, and his name is Sobsob!!

We also have an official rival now, just like the cool trainers on TV!! Our friend Hop is being a rival for us and we’re going to go adventuring together and have lots of fun and be best friends, just like Ash and Gary in that one cartoon!!

So today’s our first day of going on our, uh… adventure, league thing? Is there an actual word for it? Bugger if i know. Anyway, I guess Hop’s brother is coming in from out of town today and he’s bringing starters for us, since we don’t live anywhere near a pokemon lab big enough for that stuff. I haven’t seen him since we were kids and he left for his journey thing. I barely remember what he looks like.

It’ll be really fun, though! Elena and Cait are really excited to go roughing it in the woods, and sightseeing around the region, and all that paff, and… uhh i hate outdoors but i’m excited when my sisters are excited i guess!!
