so about ur hogwarts au (which is V CUTE) wouldn't yuri be 13 while victor is 17? maybe victor's like "omg this little kid is so CUTE aren't his squishy cheeks just adorable?" and then when they meet again when yuri's grown and the age difference doest matter as much victor's surprised at how hot the the kid's gotten. and of course yuri's always had that inappropriate but harmless crush on the older kid since always.

Hello!! This is such a cute ask- I can totally relate with Viktor and I can see that happening at a later point!

Now then- since we’re talking about age, I’d like to make use of this reply to also clarify some things on this AU, since I’ve seen a few comments on this issue.

I can understand the source of discomfort at the age difference, once 13yo Yuuri is REALLY small when compared to 17yo Viktor. However, I’m very stubborn at not putting these two together romantically in my AU, especially when they’re so small.

I was pursuing something more along the lines of these two inspiring and supporting eachother, which is what I absolutely LOVE from their canon dynamics- and while I’m truly, truly excited about the presence of the romantic side of this relationship in the anime(and I can understand why some ppl would be so eager to jump to conclusions here, it IS something to be celebrated, after all!), I chose not to do that in this AU, BECAUSE of the age difference.

Well, I could have just changed their ages so that would be possible, but I didn’t wish to let this go. I feel like the age gap plays an important part in the characters - Viktor was Yuuri’s childhood idol, after all, and between this and changing their age just so they could be together romantically in this AU, I decided on keeping it the way it is.

Which also brings Yurio to the talk; I like him for various reasons, but also because he is a teenager who yells without fear at adults like Yakov and Viktor and Yuuri, and also a teenager that is very determined in pursuing his goals, and is currently worried about the incoming changes in his body.

As for Viktuuri romantically happening here: this can happen, but later. I confess, though, that I haven’t thought this far!

My love for the Harry Potter series comes especially from the first books/movies, when I was a child and captivated by the magic world - just like Harry. I had this in mind, which is another reason as to why I wanted Yuuri to be young, and putting this together with my reasons not to change the age gap, we have the characters as they are in this AU.

TL;DR: I didn’t have Viktuuri romantically in mind while creating this; I didn’t want to change the age gap bc I feel like age plays an important role in the characters, and I also wanted Yuuri to be young, bc my love for the HP series lies in the first books where everything is still so new and magic.

(altho I can understand he’s way too young for the Triwizard Tournament, Harry was a 4th year and only did well bc he was helped lmao Yuuri’s gonna suffer)

I got Warmth by Bastille which ha is a bit depressing lyrically. But! I think this turned out fluffy in the end. Also, my first time writing this pairing so hope you like it!

Warnings: mention of real life violence, homophobiaBitty sniffs into his knees, arms wrapped around his legs, pulling them closer into his body. 

The television had been left on when he had gotten back to the Haus that day. No one had been around on the first floor and Bitty had tutted as he’d wandered over to turn it off. A 24 hour news cycle was on and Bitty stood there, frozen to the floor, as they started a story on another shooting. There weren’t many details but his vision swam as he say the words ‘gay’ and ‘homophobic’ go across the ticker bar.

Bitty could easily get lost in the horrors of the world. In middle school, his mother had found him once glued to the television, watching story after story and just sobbing. He wanted to help, he needed to help, but he just didn’t know how. His fingers had itched to do something but his mind was blank.

Eventually, after who knows how long of standing there and watching (the news anchor had moved onto another story, another city, another death), Bitty managed to turn the TV off and head up to his bedroom to his current position.

A thump from above startles him. He hadn’t realised anyone was actually home. Footsteps pound down the attic stairs and Bitty hopes they keep on going.

There’s a hard rap against his door before it creaks open and Holster’s voice filters in, “Hey, Bits, I was wondering-Oh.”

Bitty presses his face harder against his knees and fights the urge to sniff. He doesn’t want anyone to see him like this.

His door clicks shut a moment before Bitty feels Holster sit down on the bed beside him.

“Want to talk about it?” Holster asks, his voice softer than Bitty has ever heard it.

Bitty shakes his head minutely. He knows he’s being dumb about this. People watch the news all the time and didn’t start sobbing at every little thing.

Holster shifts on the bed until their arms are brushing against one another.

“You know we’re here for you no matter what, right Bits?”

Bitty nods. He’d known that from the minute he’d told Ransom and Holster he was gay and without a second thought they’d changed courses to accommodate him.

“Do I need to beat anyone up?”

A soft half-laugh escapes Bitty’s lips. Holster nudges him lightly.

“That’s not a no,” Holster says.

Bitty finally lifts his head up completely and sighs, shaking it.

“No, not unless you have the time to beat up every single psychopath in this world.”

Out of the corner of his eye, Bitty watches as Holster seamlessly raises his eyebrows.

“It’s just,” Bitty continues. “I can’t watch the news. It’s too heartbreaking and I just feel so helpless like I should be doing something to change the world but instead I’m here with baking pies like there’ll be a famine.”

“Hey now,” Holster mutters, wrapping an arm around Bitty’s shoulders and pulling him in close. “You can’t save the world by yourself. And so what if you bake a million pies? I’m sure, if you could, you would send every single one to starving families around the world.”

Bitty shrugs. He gets the sentiment Holster’s trying to lay out for him but it doesn’t really ease the voice in his head telling him he’s useless and selfish.

Holster brings Bitty in even closer until Bitty is fully pressed up against his side. Holster lays his head on top of Bitty’s and sighs. Holster smells great and Bitty inhales a bit deeper than normal, spruce trees and a hint of apricots filtering into his nose. He feels content with the way Holster is wrapped around him. Holster squeezes slightly and Bitty’s stomach swoops unfairly like he’s on a rollercoaster.

“You could do a bake sale?” Holster says, bringing Bitty out of his thoughts. “Raise money for some charity or local shelter or something?”

“Yeah, I guess,” Bitty replies. Holster is right, Bitty knows that, he just wishes he could do more.

“C’mon, Bits. We’ll think of something.”

Holster pulls away and Bitty immediately misses the contact. Bitty flushes as one of Holster’s hands cups the side of Bitty’s face, thumb rubbing at his tear stained cheek.

“No more crying,” Holster continues at a whisper. “Alright?”

Bitty stares up with wide eyes and nods, heart pounding so fast he’s sure Holster must be able to hear it. Holster’s entire demeanor is soft and inviting and all Bitty wants to do is kiss him. He watches in awe as Holster’s eyes flick down to Bitty’s lips then back up.

“Can I…?” Holsters says and Bitty can’t do anything else but continue nodding.

Holster slowly leans in, eyes slipping shut as his lips press softly against Bitty’s. It’s chaste but warms Bitty down to the bones. His eyes flutter shut as Holster presses in, tongue licking at the seam and Bitty opens up easily to it.

Holster pulls away a minute later, his blush the first thing Bitty sees when he reopens his eyes.

“I. Uhm.” Holster clears his throat. “I really like you, Bitty.”

Bitty had honestly never really thought about Holster in that way before. He’d been so focused on Jack the year before that he never opened his mind to the possibility of anyone else. But now that Holster is sitting here Bitty recalls all the other times Holster was there for him, all the times he enjoyed Holster’s company.

Bitty grins up at Holster and says, “I really like you, too.”

It has been my headcanon for months now that Kent Parson becomes a spokesman for the ASPCA and all he asks in return is that he gets to call up the shelter of whatever city he’s in and if there’s no outbreak worry or anything like that, he gets to come down and sit in a room full of cats and cuddle them.  It’s a tactic his AA sponsor and therapist approve of.  After the Epikegster he drove to a place in Boston where he just curled up in a fetal position on the cat room floor and the cats all came and sat on him.

Look, I don’t want to spoil people too much for what I’m planning. But it’s safe to say that Kent has watched most, if not all, of Bitty’s videos. As for what he thinks about those videos, well. That’s a whole ‘nother thing.

And! Reminder that the story is, right now, at the end of Bitty’s freshman year. He’s getting ready to go home for the summer after his first year of college.
