and a bit more context on how i've been in general: i posted before about how i wasn't sure about existing online as an artist to begin with and that has been exacerbated by some triggering incident IRL. basically, japanese naked gay muscle bars are scary even if you go with a friend.
but i'm taking antidepressants and going through therapy so i am doing quite a bit better now. i've been able to write again for the first time in months, and currently aim to share 3-4 posts per month.
i've also been able to draw again for the first time in forever. i'm just focusing on photo study at the moment. i don't think i'll go back to posting much fanart or on socmed anytime soon, but i'd like to tackle some bigger projects come 2026 (including returning to a project i had to put on hold due to depression).

posting my oresama teacher cafe experience at last!! i was sooo so lucky to be able to visit japan in july when the cafe was being held. more images and details under the cut!
the cafe was held in a small underground venue. upon descending the stairs, there was a small entry/waiting area that had framed photos of various color cover pages and the life-sized standees in front. i checked in with the host and sat inside, where there were a few other guests. the walls were covered in panels with oresama teacher artwork, most notably these panels of the new collaboration artwork.
next to this panel was a wall of drawings and messages from cafe visitors. i drew takaomi~
and beside this were a few display cabinets featuring all of the new merchandise!
the majority of new merch was blindbox so i just bought the letter set and the clearfile set (one of the artwork was the lord takaomi and maid/butler public morals club artwork which i kind of love sorry. can't remember what the other was).
buying the merch and ordering food took place through the same ipad interface. as shown in the pics above, i ordered takaomi's coffee jelly cola and okegawa's nekomata parfait. they both tasted bad.
i don't like coffee jelly to begin with, but i just got it because i thought 900 jpy was too much to spend on kosaka's very ordinary black tea made according to the manual... but i think i would have enjoyed that much more instead...
the parfait was mostly egg custard and whipped cream. to be honest guys having been to like 5+ japanese collab cafes at this point (and a maid cafe) i would say it's definitely something you should not get your hopes up for food-wise, but this one was the worst tasting lol. none of the food in the 2nd half of the event interested me so i skipped out, but i really wanted to try the super bun pancakes from the 1st half...
can't quite remember, but each order over a certain amount came with a coaster-style bromide and if you spend a specific amount on merch you'd get a polaroid-style bromide. i got okegawa both times!
overall while i didn't care for the drinks, i loved the experience of visiting oresama teacher cafe. it really was sooooo special and amazing to be able to spend a whole hour in a space dedicated to my favorite manga that's been such a massive influence on my humor for over 10 years—especially since the collab was held at such a random time years after the manga ended!
i was just so giddy and excited the whole time and i am so very very grateful to have been able to visit. I LOVE ORESAMA TEACHER FOREVER!!!
(the fact that i went to DGS cafe the next day and saw sideM concert three days after is also fucking awesome.)
omg i'm cracking up i was struggling to book oresama teacher cafe and it turned out the reservation link on their website was wrong for like a month (they linked it to the first week deposit-required reservation instead of general reservation) 😠i mentioned it in the contact form and it got fixed a couple days after so...
the drinks for the second half of the oresama teacher cafe are so mid it pisses me off. and i don't get why the latte foam picture has to be random like what if i only want takaomi in my mouth
kosaka got his own drink for the oresama teacher cafe ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ but it's literally just a cup of tea made according to the manual lmao i'm not paying 920 yen for this

mafuyu: most bisexual girl ever. she prefers women 99% of the time and just plays up her attraction to men as a joke (i know because i do this as well but as a bisexual man). the only guy she's really head over heels for is hayasaka
takaomi: i think he's straight after all but he's a man who's so confident in his straightness that he's not insecure about being viewed as bisexual. unfortunately he's also a dom which is really hard for me because i want to dominate him but i'll respect his preferences
hayasaka: straight and lowkey homophobic. his backstory is stupid as fuck so i pretend that he's a transgender man instead
shinobu: i genuinely have no idea
okegawa: it's hard to imagine him liking anyone outside of mafuyu so idc. maybe he just likes strong princelike girls? i don't know if guys like him exist IRL
akki: i also headcanon him as straight SORRY ORESAMA TEACHER IS A SHOJO HAREM MANGA. idgaf about akki x komari though. i like trans male akki headcanon. he's like this picture to me
kawauchi: bisexual and he's evil about it
goto: no opinion on his own sexuality but he's a very big ally for something
