She had gone to the memorial with the sole intent of paying her respects to the friends that she'd lost in the battle. Well, there was another part of her that held a fear that soon her mother's name would join the others there. Her eyes caught the figure that was already there and, though they hadn't interacted really, she recognized him instantly- Abel.

Quietly, she replied, "Hi." She came up beside him and glanced at the names, her chest aching as she recognized all of them. Esperanza sighed heavily and muttered, "Sorry. About your dad." She didn't like Adam but she'd been shielded from the worst of him due to her mother's interference. And, well, it wasn't Abel's fault that Adam was a dick.

Evenings at the hotel were, thankfully, starting to become more predictable. Vaggie was able to have dinner with Charlie and then settle down in the rec room until they started to get tired. However, the sound of pounding at the door of the hotel made her head tilt back on the couch as she sat with Charlie. "I can get it, babe," Charlie offered.

"No, it's fine, I'll get it," Vaggie responded, reaching over to pat Charlie's thigh before getting to her feet. As she headed into the lobby, the pounding continued and Vaggie's frown worsened. Whoever was at the door was either agitated or just an asshole. When she opened the door and saw Lute on the other side, her expression went flat. "What do you want, Lute?"

Oh she was relishing this. It took all of her control to not immediately start cackling with the way the victory, the joy of triumph, bubbled up in her throat, a hearty chuckle making her shoulders bounce as she stood there. She lets a gloved talon reach out, almost playfully scratching Charlie under the chin, the glow of her mask being the only thing lighting up the room besides Charlie’s own gaze.

“Listen to me very closely, Princess. I will release my hold over your mind, and when I do, it will be changed. You are conscious of the hypnosis. You are not distressed by it. You are not to tell anyone of the control I have over you, and you will do your best to conceal it from any who may grow suspicious or remain unaware. You will have no desire to break free from this trance, from this order, and from any other order I give you in the future.”

Meet Cambiel!

Cam is... well, to put it bluntly, she was going to be one of the Fallen. She fought in the War on the side of those who would be damned, and this is all they knew until she walked up and surrendered, her arms laid down. No one knows what stopped her, why she abandoned the rebels, what happened in the chaos and the bloodshed that made her turn her back on Lucifer. Because surely it had to be something. People have asked, but she's never answered--whatever it was, Estes will never tell either, and perhaps it's been purged from the records. No one knows with certainty.

Some of the others wonder if she won't still Fall, ask if she's not secretly a double agent of Hell, left for a long con. She's a bit of a loner, and... sharper in temperament than most angels. She has plenty of secrets,

She's one of the angels of the end of the world, and most people don't know how to deal with the implications that either. So it's easier to not deal with it at all.

Who she takes more after: Asherah

Who she likes better: both, though she's not super close with either of them.

Personal hc: she has an affinity for jewels and gold, and also looks like she should be carrying a sword. No one can tell if she is, and no one wants to ask how much of her aesthetic is as a result of her domain or simply personal taste.

It had started as an offhand comment. Coronis might have run away with it a little more than she should have.

But the fact remained that she had six brightly colored pamphlets (handwritten and glittered) that she'd made herself, and managed to get Lute the week off of guard duty for a full tourist experience in the remaining Rings of Hell. The last day would be an optional cruise around Pride...but given Lute had seen plenty of Pride during her days as an Exterminator, that was also an open day to take it easy.

"Wrath is my favorite Ring. I think you'll like it a lot-" She urged, guiding her to the car. She'd put on a wide-brimmed sunhat for the desert heat, and looked more cheerful than ever. "-and it's full of cowboys and beautiful desert vistas!"

Coronis had specifically studied all the biggest attractions of each Ring, setting up a schedule for them to see and experience what the kingdoms of the Cardinal Sins have to offer.

"Isn't it exciting? Most angels don't get to see any Rings outside of Pride!"

The serene hum of Heaven’s endless light bathed the golden halls as Archangel Raphael briskly walked through the expansive corridors, her hands full of scrolls and vials glowing with divine energy. The weight of her duties pressed heavily on her shoulders. There were wounds to heal, prayers to answer, and miracles to perform. And then a firm yet gentle hand grabbed her arm.

“Raphael,” a familiar voice called, soft but resolute as Asmodel, Angel-King of the Pax Dei and Angel of Patience interrupted her routine, his grip steady but kind. “You’re always in the middle of something. Always rushing from one miracle to the next, one wound to heal after another. But when was the last time you stopped to breathe?”

“Raph,” Asmodel said, his voice softer now, laced with something she couldn’t ignore as he pressed a kiss to her cheek. “You’re Heaven’s healer, but even healers need rest. You’ve been running yourself ragged for centuries. You can’t pour from an empty cup.”

His grip tightened slightly as he pulled her to him as he exchanged a quick glance with Kandi who was nearby. No one knew the shit storm that was about to come down, save for Samael’s (Lucifer’s) co-conspirators. “I’m asking you to choose yourself for once. Just for a little while. Take the week off. Let someone else carry the weight for a change. Be with me.”
