Thad wants to be angry. He is. Somewhat. But it’s not really anger. He doesn’t want to hit something, doesn’t want to lash out. What it really is, is ENVY. He’s jealous because somehow Billy was good enough when he wasn’t. And now he has to live knowing that his foster brother is better than him, is worthy. He didn’t connect the pieces at first because a new SUPERHERO showing up was nothing really new. Superheroes were old news these days. It hadn’t been until Darla had told him what Billy had said about the wizard and the temple that it had all clicked. And his heart had sunk immediately. All that research, all that work for nothing. He hadn’t gotten back in time and now there was no point in it anyway because Billy was the one who’d been gifted with magic.
