"Holy Smoke foi fundada em 2012 pela artista Helen Thompson. Nascida no País de Gales, seu pai a ensinou a desenhar e costurar, nutrindo desde cedo uma paixão por fazer e criar. Holy Smoke oferece uma coleção de esculturas em tecido/papel, camadas em retalhos de tecidos, papéis sobre uma estrutura de arame e usando uma paleta limitada para criar texturas frágeis/puídas com fios pendurados e bordas brutas, adicionando cores sutis com tinta, argila e linha. As imperfeições ilustram a mão humana através de um processo emotivo na tentativa de representar o espírito único, a fragilidade e o caráter dos cães em suas diversas formas e circunstâncias.”

“Holy Smoke was established in 2012 by artist Helen Thompson. Born in Wales, her father taught her to draw and sew, nurturing a passion to make and create from an early age. Holy Smoke offers a collection of textile/paper sculptures, layering scraps of fabrics, papers over a wire framework and using a limited palette to create fragile/threadbare textures with hanging threads and raw edges, adding subtle colour with paint, clay and thread. Imperfections illustrate the human hand through an emotive process in an attempt to represent the unique spirit, fragility and character of dogs in their diverse forms and circumstances.”
