Whoops, I forgot to do one of these yesterday. Probably because I don’t care about Jesus. Sorry, Jesus. I’ll try to make it up to him by continuing to push his #PRINCEofPEEPS social media campaign. Share it, live it, love it, etc.
April 16, 2025 | Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests 15 and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. 16 From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over. - Matthew 26:14-16
Wishing you a reflective and peaceful Holy Wednesday. 🙏 May this solemn day be filled with moments of prayer, contemplation, and gratitude. Let's take this time to remember the great significance of sacrifice and renewal. #HolyWednesday #Reflect #Pray #Gratitude #Renewal #Faith #Contemplation #PeacefulDay #EasterWeek #HolyWeek #Lent #Solemnity #Blessings #SpiritualJourney #ChristianFaith #HolyWeekObservance #Prayerful #ReligiousTradition #Faithful #SpiritualReflection #GodsGrace #ChristianLife #HolyWeekPreparation #LentenSeason #EasterPreparation #HolyWednesdayReflections #HolyWeek2024

Wednesday of Holy Week
Reflection: Am I in Denial about My Sinfulness?
There are times when we deny the role that sin has in our lives. We either downplay the seriousness of a particular sin or we make light of its effect—or we refuse to accept that the sin has power over us at all.
Judas professes a dutiful denial that he is the one who will betray Jesus, but we know that he will. Time and time again, I have seen similar processes at work in my own life when it comes to sin. There is something in me, and probably in most, if not all, of us, that does not want to humbly admit that we need a Savior, or at least that we need help in overcoming our “darker self.”
Even when we have experienced the unconditional love of God, we still find it difficult to surrender and let Him into our lives. We can profess that we know and firmly believe that He only wants what’s good for us; still, we find it difficult to surrender to His will. Why?
The answer lies in the nature of sin and the way it always manages to cling to our lives. There is always a remnant that continues its evil work against us. The only solution is an ever-deepening surrender to the Holy Spirit. It is only the Spirit who can empower us to live as disciples of Jesus in the full freedom that He had won for us on the cross.
Fr. Steve Tynan, MGL
Do you live in freedom from the powers of sin in your life?
Holy Spirit, empower me to not just know but also to live and experience Your full power at every moment, so I may completely root out all sin from my life. Amen.
Prayer
… for a deep and profound respect for life, especially for the unborn.
… for the strength and healing of the sick.
… for the healing and peace of all families.
Finally, we pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most.
GOD BLESS!

Reflection: ‘Surely, It Is Not I . . .’
Today is “Spy Wednesday.” The Gospel story for the Eucharistic celebration commemorates the infamous plan of Judas Iscariot to betray Jesus. The Master indicated that He knew the plan, and that He knew that this plan involved Judas. Yet Jesus spoke with great gentleness and sensitivity, keeping the identity of Judas secret—His way of giving Judas an “exit plan.” But rather than taking this moment as an opportunity for rethinking and repentance, Judas illustrated a usual trend for persons with a guilty conscience. Judas denied that he planned to deny Jesus. Uncomfortably and flimsily but blatantly, Judas blurted out: “Surely, it is not I, Rabbi?”
Jesus knew. Judas also knew, of course, about his own action plan. What made Judas hide his truth behind those words: “Surely, it is not I, Rabbi?” Probably his real deceitful way. Or a false sense of shame. He was ashamed of his wrongdoing, but he was also ashamed of backtracking. Filipinos have a word for this: “Kahiyaan na!” So, stand pat on your wrong ground. Whatever. A wrong way of “paninindigan.” Too much self-protectiveness and pride!
Now I know why Jesus loved to teach this: to enter God’s reign (God’s Kingdom), one must be like a child. Children do not have these false pretensions about themselves. They can candidly and spontaneously get away with their mistakes—with a smile, with a cute gesture—that make them lovable even in their errors. Perhaps this is what we need to relearn before Jesus. It is humility that makes God’s grace flow with ease even in our moments of mistakes and personal weaknesses.
~Fr. Domie Guzman, SSP
How do you take it when you are caught in your mistakes and errors? Do you have the tendency to “deny to death” your mistakes?
Many times, I have betrayed You, dear Jesus. I am sorry that I have not been faithful enough to You despite all Your goodness and love. Amen.
