Lycoming o-145 plane engine update: all the heads are removed, and they look pretty decent for 86 years old. gonna give em a thorough cleanup when I come back from the 🚁 hangar in 3 weeks. :]

But at a glance the only things I'm noticing is some clumsy maintenance someone did on this poor piston head and a bit of pitting corrosion on this intake valve (Transformers fandom NO 🗞). Other than that, & hunting down 2 magnetos & a carburetor to rebuild, there's just a few small things in this I'm going do to this before I attempt to get it fired up :]

Once again playing with possible color schemes for the Ultra Pup. I really want to go all out and make this sky puppy look as fun as it's supposed to be. I mean, airplanes and flying is fun! :D

Plus she was a 90s gal anyways, she can look the part now. 😌💕

(I'm probably not going to paint the engine that color tho. Might alodine the aluminum parts which will turn them a bright golden color)

Biplame update. Will have to fabricate a new rib for this wing box unfortunately, found a nice sharp bend that's not supposed to be there & definitely become a crack under flight loads. Easy peasy fix tho. I just have to make a jig from a block of wood. Luckily I have everything to do so :)

+ both these rivets holding it to the spar are loose & literally doing nothing. These special rivets tho, I don't have & will need to hunt down. Luckily pretty common & cheap, most kitplanes are built with these nowadays

Still trying to get the hang of this tiny hand held scanner. Anyways, here's some Ultra Pup doodles. A little little plane friend I hope I can get flying again one day. 🥺💕

Right doodle was me trying to figure out how the wing folding mechanism works on this guy without breaking it. This mod made it so the wings are extra heavy for this "ultralight" tho. But on plus side, they're super strong and can technically handle 6 negative and positive Gs as well as some aerobatics. I don't ever intend to put that to the test tho. 😅
