A Cessna 150H headed into Santa Barbara Airport on a gray overcast California afternoon
Flying over Denver CO in a C172 at roughly 7800 feet AGL
saw some interesting airplanes at an EAA hosted event we flew in to see in our free time a few days ago. All companies there were either nonprofits or glider/pilot associations. All airplanes were built by their pilots and EAA certified (other than the one with paw prints)
Also a vid of one of the tow pilots I’ve flown with maneuvering back to the runway after releasing the glider. (Sorry for horrible quality)
it looks soooo fun I really want to try that but sadly I’m not certified as a tow pilot or acrobatic trained/rated. In the future tho……. It would be better if i could train acrobatics and towing in an airplane I built/bought myself
sigh. Basically this post means goodbye money.
A little private pilot spam!
While I was recording these guys my classmate reminded me to shoot in 4k. I totally forgot I could do that with this camera- so upcoming pics will be better.
Also while I was gone, I got my paws on a canon powershot sx40! Pretty old by tech standards but hey! I'm not turning down a free camera- idk what I'll use it for, maybe some spotting, idk!

The First Lesson
When I was a Junior in high school, I called my local airport and spoke with the CFI (certified flight instructor) at a flight school to get some information. It was a very productive call that engaged me, and I was able to schedule my discovery flight for the following week.
When I walked through the gate and onto the tarmac, something changed; it went from planes being something cool to me actually going out and flying one. The flight instructor briefly walked me through what he was doing from pre-flight to takeoff, and then we were in the air.
He gave me the controls, and just like that, I was flying, not very well, but I was doing it. Unfortunately, as much as I enjoyed it, I could not find time to fit training into my schedule with school, sports, and other extracurriculars, so I put training on the back burner.
Then, during my second semester in college, I found myself with a lot of free time, so I decided to head down to the local airport and start training. And just like that, I was on my way to becoming a private pilot. And it’s safe to say there were some unexpected experiences along the way.
