Any opinions/thoughts on Turkey Tail as an immune supplement for dogs, particularly helping lipomas? Tried to research it but couldn’t find any actual clinical studies about it, so I’m inclined to think it’s social media/weird companies bullshitting me.
Also pretty sure my vet would roll his eyes at me for asking 😅 but I’m curious what the vet community thinks.
Yam Tax for the question. He says no Turkey tail, only potato tail. We thank you!
I am beyond deeply skeptical about the claims, because they always track back to anti-vaxxers or people actively trying to sell it.
Plus the Facebook ads I've seen with before and after have always been either a- the other side of the dog, b- a different dog, or c- a dog that clearly had the mass surgically removed. Bonus points if the sutures are still present.
It's like the dental supplement ads claiming to remove all tartar where the before and after have the after photo be a dog literally in the process of having an anesthetized dental procedure with the trache tube visible.
This is humorous timing with the fact that I currently have turkey tail mushrooms growing in my back yard. If only I was less ethical I could sell them as organic, free range mushrooms.
The Potato tail is very much always appreciated. Guaranteed serotonin booster!
Companies committed to providing consumers with a wide range of potentially-urushiol-contaminated products:
Homeopathy scammers and LUSH.
The "None Of Your Beeswax Lip Balm" did test positive for urushiol via GC/MS, so they are definitely using actual Toxicodendron plant materials in their products.
CosDNA results for products containing "Rhus succedanea" and "Hydrogenated Japan wax" are nearly all LUSH... Did they make a deal with some lacquer company to buy up their byproducts for cheap? Their website has a page for "Japan wax" that carefully avoids mentioning how toxic the plant is:
I feel insane
I'm so jealous of the connection the Na'vi have with nature. Maybe my lack of spirituality is catching up with me and I just want something to believe in. I don't believe in Eywa, but I want to believe the plants and animals around us understand a lot more than we think.
I come from a very science-oriented household. Almost everyone in my family is a doctor and I'm currently pursuing my own doctoral degree (won't specify which branch of medicine for purposes of anonymity). I'm diving headfirst into research and there is so much evidence to indicate that both plants and animals have a much higher level of understanding/sentience than we originally thought. I can't talk about this with my family because I just sound like a tree-hugger, but the evidence is there. It doesn't help that the political state of the world is so dire, most people would rather focus on something else.
Please, if there's anyone out there who wants to talk about this, I welcome any kind of conversation. I have an open mind, and I'd never judge anyone's spiritual/scientific beliefs. Even if you just want to talk about the world of Pandora or don't have any scientific background, I'd love to discuss this with someone. Thank you for reading.

Like a drug: my collection of vintage medicine can be habit forming.
The life I aspire to have.
I just want a haunted homestead to raise my kid(s) on.
This is (hopefully) the last time I'm talking abt this dumbass —
» I don't remember “supporting” any pol party (i support basic ideas here and try my best to debunk misinformation) which is what I'll do here also.
Staying on brand this person has yet again resorted to spreading misinformation, and staying on brand it's one of those types of misinformation that can easily be debunked.
According to this person, current govt is pushing ayurveda and homoeopathy cured INSTEAD of modern medicine — *sighs*
1. Nobody is saying ban modern medicine, nobody is saying don't use modern medicines.
2. Current Govt. Has relaunched generic medicine schemes in 2015 (one year after it came into power) that ensures public can get live-saving medicines for 50-90% OFF. And guess what? These are allopathic (or modern) medicines only. Medicines of diabetes, heart problems, are available to be purchased for much, much less money.
Calling this level of misunderstanding “ignorance” feels generous. It’s more like a full-time commitment to being uninformed. The logic here is so detached from reality it’s almost impressive. At some point, it stops being confusion and starts being a choice to stay uneducated.
Apart from this, are people forgetting AYUSH scheme?
Apart from this, are people really so dead asleep they haven't seen construction of 100s of hospitals and collabs with nations like UK to promote biochemistry research AND introduction of scholarships for the same.
The current govt has taken steps to promote Ayurveda - yes, they've recently laid foundation stone in Rohini for construction of Central Ayurveda Research Institute.
You don't have to use it. You don't even have to enter. But please, yet again, stop spreading myths and fantasies. It's getting boring.
Before you get on your “B-but I'm a HINDU aND AN INDIAN” it's WORSE because of that! Lmao. You live in this country and yet are so unaware and so uneducated it's pathetic.
