We dissected owl’s pellet.  We found many types of animal bonds inside the owl pellets. Great video for homeschool project. This was an awesome homeschool project. It was an interesting, educational and a fun video to make.

Friday the 13th (again?)

After 4-4.5 years homeschooling, we might seen that flash of bright light. Before that, it seemed to be just faint twinkling everywhere. Or maybe I should get a better prescription glasses. Maybe...

The new year had make us planning on a new trip abroad, and one of the class I found for LM (and myself, why of course :D) is a gamelan. Youtube has plenty of the videos for it. So what the difference? in a short, Javanese is like ballad song, and Balinese is like party song. Breakup song vs dating song. I think you got it by now. 

So while that become one of new addition in our trip, studying about a topic with language art, social study, math, and a little bit on mind science boiled into one was groundbreaking for us that it flabbergasted me for a half day after. And that happened yesterday, Friday the 13th. Dum dum duuuuuum.

I woke up and not knowing what to do today as well as LM. Then we remembered reading about a post regarding superstition. Well, it’s Friday, it’s the 13th so there you go. 

So we researched and made questionnaire about the oddity of Friday the 13th. After breaking the topic down to Friday then 13, LM were able to understand the reasoning behind the superstition. 

 What took me by surprise was that Friday the 13th superstition has a lot of background in Judeo-Christian history, especially for the Friday part. But 13 also has fair and share. On the other hand, there are some places in the world that looove Friday and 13. Case in point is Italy. 13 means jackpot for them, there is even a phrase for it,  fare tredici. So Italian or those who is fluent in Italian out here, please correct me if I’m wrong.

And LM also found out the Prime number quality of 13. Which then proceed to tol me that Prime numbers are the most boring number in math because it’s the easiest. Should I be proud or should I be scared?
