Today is the first time I've gotten homesick at college. Considering I was in an almost constant state of homesickness last year at another college, I say I did pretty good. Went almost a month and was okay. I know I'll be okay. I'm just really sad. And lonely. And numb. And I just want my boyfriend, but he's out with friends trying to make up for a really shitty day, so I don't want to annoy him. Long distance relationships suck. I should probably study for my exam tomorrow. But I'm already in bed and have honestly lost all motivation to do anything. I just want to cry. I'm being overdramatic. I just miss home. I miss my friends and my boyfriend. Two more weeks. Also my laptop won't turn on. Awesome. Fucking Sony piece of shit. I should have just dished out a few more hundred dollars last year and gotten a Mac. Ugh. Lesson learned. I hate feeling like this.
This isn't meant to sound petty, but rather I really do want to recognize my friends who have stayed in contact with me over the last 8 months that I've been abroad. Some friendships have surprised me while I've been gone, while I've been disappointed in other friendships. Family is a given but friends are always a choice, and for those friends, professors and working relationships that have contacted me while I'm here-- thank you. While I'm counting down the days til I come home (67 days!), thank you all for showing me that my absence means just as much as my presence.
