I don't normally listen to music while doing homework because I don't particularly need to and I sometimes find it more distracting. But economics/business texts make me irrationally angry so having soothing piano music playing in the background reminds me to breathe so I can keep going.

Homework hack

How to get around a long reading with a response assignment for it: Read the intro, give a sentence or two on that, then just scroll/skip ahead a couple pages, read a bit from there and respond a sentence or two on that, and continue until the end. That way it doesn’t look like you read only the beginning and the end, and you can usually get a decent idea of the whole piece based on the tidbits you do read
