Meet mottled Lapis!  She is a Lapis Lazuli with striations of calcite in her gem.  Due to the calcite impurities, she is not as powerful as canon Lapis, but still has water powers in her immediate vicinity, so she is assigned guide positions by Homeworld on water and ice planets as an escort for gems susceptible to the conditions.

Here she is escorting a Moonstone and her Ruby guards across a snowy pass.  Both Moonstone and the Rubies are susceptible to the cold, so Lapis was assigned as an escort to make shelters to protect them from the freezing conditions.  One of the Rubies was also sent with a small furnace to help keep them warm.

Someone suggested calcite streaked Lapis a while ago, but it took me so long to finish due to exams, I cannot find the post where the suggestion was made :(
