Whatever whatever writing this down here so it doesn't get buried in my notes app but here are all the animal motifs for the Gutteral Scream members that exist in my head if you even care... I need to properly design them tbh (I have not properly designed any characters across all three seasons):
Tony - Cat
Self explonitory. Cat like pupils, shaggier hair blah blah
Kelsey - Worm (?)
This one I'm unsure of. Chose worms because apples duh but they don't 100% fit her? Anyways still - round shapes, longer strands and/or curls ect... Not apple related but I'm kinda vibing with bloodworms specifically they have an interesting shape to them^^
Francis - Sheep/Lamb
[violently shakes you] Wolf in sheep's clothing... You see the vision... YOU THINK YOU CAUGHT A LAMB BUT BABY I'M THE WOLF !!! /lyr HEAR ME OUT! Beady big eyes and poofy, slightly curly-ish hair... Considering the extra mile of making his eyes and hair more include more HARSH shapes as his arc progresses... Might be a little on the nose but like. He's losing his innocence...
Trudy - Trout
Once again, self explanatory. Smooth face (and overall skin) plus pinkish undertone (since trouts usually have that!). I've seen people draw little fish shapes on her apron and jewelery and that's extremely silly too /pos
Yeah that's all for tonight thank you very much for coming to my ted talk :]
I firmly believe that the Muppet Joker is just Hermie in an alternate universe where he never met the teens... Like that is what he would've been if he never got caught up in the shenanigans. That is what his Tumblr would've looked like trust. I forgot the details of the Muppet Joker lore tbh but all the Reddit relatives or whatever would be Hermie's adoptive family growing more and more concerned for him.
A thing I think about A LOT is the fact that when I started getting into dndads and was listening to season one I often doomscrolled the tags and I kept seeing Oakworthy content and didn't fully understand their dynamic/relationship bc I wasn't familiar with the characters so I developed my own mischaracterized interpretation of them based off the absurd amount of out of context fanart and posts I encountered HELP and then was quite disappointed when I reached season two and the canon didn't completely match my version... Current day me has a lot of all over the place feelings on canon Oakworthy tbh but I lowkey still hardcore vibe with my old fanon view on them? Let me explain (and expand now that I have the full picture) as much as I remember:
I knew Hermie was Scam's son and I thought this fact was clear from the get-go in the sense that the audience always knew but our protagonists weren't in the know until they actually met Scam. So I thought Hermie was always this trickster type character who wanted to pull goofs and pranks to impress his father but lacked natural "scamming" talent and SUCKED at doing them and constantly failed - what is a REALLY silly concept tbh imagined it being a running gag or something... I always pictured him as a cartoony over the top theater kid villian cooking up evil Doofenshmirtz level schemes and I still wish he was that :(
Normal was always aware (or at the very least had a sneaking suspicion) Hermie wanted to steal the mascot suit (probably cuz I had this spoiled early on and didn't realize it was a twist) and had kind of an active distain towards Hermie because he knew he was from Chaparral and knew there was a constant chance Hermie would get his grubby little hands on the outfit. So that's right ladies and gentlemen I THOUGHT THEY HAD A SORT OF RIVALS SITUATION I STRAIGHT UP THOUGHT THEY WERE ENEMIES TO LOVERS FOR SOME REASON HELP... Hermie always wanting to steal the suit to the point of obsession, dubbing it as "his greatest scheme yet" only to always be stopped by Normal in some dumb, probably accidental way until Hermie realizes that he in fact was not obsessed with the mascot suit BUT WITH THE PERSON WHO WEARS IT and subconsciously always wanting to steal it was just part of his Joker persona and their romance blossoms from there.... Like imagine how hard hitting all the "we gotta stop meeting like this" and "I knew you liked me" teasing banter would be if they were on the brink enemies
And after Hermie gets involved in all the saving the world stuff, Normal lowers his guard and develops a genuine relationship with him thinking he has changed and genuinely wants to help our heros until BOOM! BETRAYAL! Because "it was nothing personal"
I don't think I understood what happened afterwards BUT I THINK YOU GUYS GET THE VISION YOU UNDERSTAND IT! Like it's not a huge change but this would've been so FUN... if season 2 ever gets adapted into another piece of media like a graphic novel or a tv show (doubt it EVER will but hey I can dream so let me dream) where they have more control over the writing I would love to see them rewrite their dynamic to be something more akin to this...
Normal would 100% cry over those AI generated sad cat videos I KNOW HE WOULD
I myself am not a huge SpicyNoodles person, but I hc them both as autistic and I'M OBSESSED WITH THE IDEA OF THEM BEING ON THE OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE AUTISM SPECTRUM?!? Like hear me out.... MK is the textbook example of "bad at math, good at art" autism while Red Son is the definition of "good at math, bad at art" autism. MK has a bunch of comfort/safe foods (they're the type of person to order chicken nuggets at a fancy restaurant lol) while food is probably really stimulating for Red Son so he loves trying food with unique flavours and textures.... I COULD GO ON AND ON, BUT DO YOU SEE MY VISION...
Honestly I personally headcanon that MK has read a decent chunk of jttw, just he has canonically bad ADHD memory so he forgets certain details + a bunch of stuff just blew over their head lol. I bet when they were reading the havoc in heaven chapters he was like "omg Monkey King is so cool and awesome and epic!!" and not acknowledging the many crimes Wukong was committing :^ MK probably skimmed most of the "episodes" and only read the actions scenes what like real. OH AND HE'S PROBABLY OBBSESSED WITH THE IN UNIVERSE JTTW MOVIES AND ANIMATED ADAPTATIONS YOU KNOW I'M RIGHT!!!!!!
Extremely extremely hot take don't come at me please but I personally headcanon MK (and Mei too) as minors :( Ik ik what the crew said and I understand the logic bc they can drive and stuff but I feel like when Lego created them they intended them to be viewed as teenagers and I can't unseen it? Like I don't think Lego created them with the thought of them being in their 20s... like they're constantly refered to as children and "they're still growing" and the official synopsis of the show straight up calls MK "a teenager". Again I'm fine with you validating the show's crew opinions or viewing them in that light but just keep in mind that them being adults isn't set in stone if you create more spicy art of them :(
