I have to say that I think one F1 driver calling another F1 driver "selfish" is deeply funny, for two reasons: first because they all are. Of course they are! It's part of the psychological profile of every single person who makes it onto the grid. It's like one of the biggest "pot, kettle" statements I've ever heard someone make. The second is that in this case specifically, Lando has been so atypically generous that people have been complaining about his brain, wondering if it works the way it should for a winning F1 driver. He's sharing his data. He's giving up a win. He's endlessly taking accountability. He's been putting the team above himself so much that his biggest fans think it's pathological. But, if he sees a gap, he's going to go for it. He's an F1 driver. That's not uniquely selfish, that's regular racing, the racing that the team have promised over and over to the fans that both drivers are allowed to do.
