Omg have you seen widow’s bay? What did you think? (Also Happy Friday 🎉🎉🎉)
MY SISTER AND I JUST STARTED WATCHING!!! We just finished episode 5 last night oh my gosh I love it!!
Have you finished it or still watching???
I need to know what’s going on also love the Chris Fleming camo as the resident drug dealer 😂😂
HAPPY FRIDAYYYYYYYYY
Oh also! I saw that you were reading What Stalks the Deep!! What Moves the Dead was my gateway to adult horror fiction!! Have you read The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw? Are there any other horror books that you’ve come across that you’ve liked?
(Also it’s been fun talking to you! Is it alright if I send you my discord ID? I kinda feel like I took over your inbox lol)
My sister has The Salt Grows Heavy 😬😬😬😬 I’m waiting for her to finish so I can read 😂😂😂😂.
Okay I have a list of horror books I read that I genuinely enjoyed and had me creeped at night:
The Twisted ones- T. Kingfisher
Wolf Worm- T. Kingfisher
The Unworthy- Agustina Bazterrica
Don’t let the forest in (I’m still about half way through but it’s creepy 💀) - CG Drews
Nothing but Blackened Teeth- Cassandra Khaw
The Silent Companions- Laura Purcell
Blood on her Tongue- Johanna van Veen
All of these have been the last few horror books I’ve read recently and left an impression (good or bad) but I recommend them! Also please let me know if you have additional horror book recs I’m always on the hunt for new things to read 👀
I have not tried any YSL scents! But I will def try these out! Y Eau de parfum sounds fantastic! I have not experienced a woody-smokey scent yet. Bourbon scents always sound fun! Def in my future sample cart. Dang! D: I'm sorry to hear about Ulta taking your Nest scents out! I've only heard good things about them. I've had my eye on the their Indian Jasmine scent but the other ones you mentioned sound fantastic! Black tulip especially. That's so cool that Ffern does their scents by the season! What awesome way to have a signature scent! Lol I blame fragrance reddit for the seasonal scent hunt honestly! I started out looking only for a signature scent but now I'm looking for a cooler weather scent as well. But I will say Jo Malone Waterlily is def on my back burner for a summer tropical scent. It's a bright fresh scent without being fruity if that makes sense? Hmm scents I don't like are usually strong amber notes. Jo Malone ended being a line I mostly enjoy partially due to the fact that despite liking perfume I can be a bit sensitive to stronger base notes. I haven't had any issues with Jo Malone so far. What about you? Any scents that are an immediate no? Or ones you don't super dislike but can't see yourself wearing anytime soon?
Thankfully they still have them online (I just don’t wanna pay the shipping 🥲). I’ve heard great things about the Jo Malone scents so I will be delving into them more!
Reddit is always a dangerous place to go exploring, and now that I know there is a fragrance Reddit I will be perusing 👀.
Yeah Amber can be such a hit or miss smell. I cannot stand the smell of super sugary sweet/musky scents. One that comes to mind is the one Billie Eillish scent, it smells like burnt marshmallows to me and it’s not a pleasant smell lol.
One scent that really did not agree with me was one my sister bought (I can’t remember the company) but it was a scent based on the new Nosferatu film. It’s smelled like actual rot and I gagged. Twas not the smell for me, and I was so annoyed after cause I kept getting whiffs of it.
Any smells for the fall/winter?? And where do you purchase/ is there a price point your like (I’m not buying that?)👀
Dude!! I have not tried Smokey scents but I’ve been super curious about them! What are your favorites? And what colognes have you been into?
I’m in the same boat about only being into perfumes for a few years and I got into them to wear for work!
Currently my warm season fav is Jo Malone Lime and Basil.
Do you have a preference in what you wear based in the season?
Oooooo I will be checking out that scent in the near future it sounds divine @-@. I've recently found that YSL scents are some of my favorite, the Myself le parfum. Is a nice mixture of sweet sugar with a smokey bourbon. It's not too intense and I feel it mixes well with my other scents.
Another of theirs is Y Eau de Parfum, again another smokey, woodsy sort of scent that doesn't overwhelm my nose and mingles well with my other scents.
I also love Nest scents (though my local Ulta has gotten rid of my all time favorite Wild Poppy I'm still recovering, and hoping they bring it back). It's a nice floral scent, with some brighter notes, but again not too sweet. I also love their Black tulip scent a more mature floral with some dark notes, but I love that one.
I also (through my sister) got two scents from Ffern, it's their Autumn 24 and Autumn 25 scents. I tend to wear the 24 more, as it's a more spice forward smell, the 25 is a bit powdery and too dead floral forward (for me if you enjoy the more floral powdery more power to you!), but I can still mix it with a lot.
I don't really?? I mean I probably should lol, but I more or less have my signature scents that I try and keep in rotation, though as I gather more I hope I can become a more seasonally shifter.
Do you change with the seasons? Also is there a certain scent you can't stand/ do vibe with??
Lmao! Okay my recs are more on the matte side.
My favorites so far have been MAC’s Antique Velvet and Iconic Photo.
Yes!!! It was Hot Chocolit!! That’s the one! lol okay I def might splurge on that in the future. I didn’t know their lip oils had a shimmer!
I was honestly super surprised by the Nyx lip oil, I hadn’t tried lip oils before but now I’m stocking up this one in every bag. It’s now the reigning champ for clear gloss.
I have been eyeing the MAC lippies for ages just sort of pacing in small circles so I'll have to go give them a try, Antique Velvet especially looks absolutely gorgeous!!!
Some of their lip oils have shimmers and some of them don't, mostly the more opaque oils are the ones with shimmers. The translucent oil in I think Cocoa Treatz is really fucking splendid tho I forgot that the first go-round. The gloss bomb sticks have some shimmer and some regular versions, like I know Hot Chocolit has a shimmer and a regular version (both are gorgeous) and some that are shimmers only.
I will definitely also try the Nyx lip oil then, I feel like lip oils have done more to heal my lips than any of the masks and treatments I tried and I'm always on the lookout for new ones, so that'll be on the next restock trip!! :"D
Thank you for lippie-talk!!! I did not expect this much info and I love it!
Okay you for real have me pumped to try Fenty now. I like browns and reds too and was looking at the brown in the Fenty Gloss Bomb Stix line!
I also need to add Laka and Rom&nd to the list too!
I’ve only tried to Nyx oil lip oil because I had not heard any talk about else but now I gotta check out Milani and Fenty!
Oh man more lippies to try!!!
Hey man of course!!! I am always down to talk lippies, I'm so glad any of it was helpful!!! I have the gloss bomb stix rn in Shimmering Hot Chocolit (GORGEOUS) and Rose Amber, I have also had regular Hot Chocolit and Black'r Berry which were both absolutely stunning. I also have their lip oil in the Rose Amber shade (with shimmers!) which is the prettiest everrrr tbh.
Rom&nd has a whole bunch of gorgeous stuff I'm eager to try too and Laka JUST came out with a new lipstick line that looks incredible so you're like right in time for all that fun :"D
I hadn't tried the Nyx one yet, did you happen to like it? Uno reverse now I want your recs lmfao.
Hi! Hope you’re doing well! Is perfume talk okay with you? I’m so curious about everyone’s perfume journeys. Like I started out a few years ago thinking I was a freshie and would like powder notes but turned out to be about green scents. Did you have a similar experience or did you know what you would like right away?
HELLO!!! Hope you’re doing good as well! I am always down to talk about perfume 😍😍😍!
I would say I was in a similar vein, I started out thinking I’d be much more into fruity, bright scents and to a point I am. But I’ve gravitated a lot more to Smokey/ spicy/ neutral scents in recent years.
I did not know right away, but I also didn’t have a ton of experience with perfume? I only in the past (I want to say 2 years?) is when I actively started being more interested in perfumes and scents and actually finding quality perfumes. Before that I mostly bought from shops like Bath and Body works and a few scents from Victorias Secret. Which again are super sugary and sweet, and last maybe a few hours. As I’ve started to branch out and try more scents I will also say I’ve started to enjoy a lot colognes as well. But again they’re more of the deeper, neutral scents. With some lighter/sweeter scents mixed in.
Which if you ever want to share what scents you’re rocking I’m always down to know 👀.
