Just in case you doubted, barefoothooves is 100% hoof nerd. My mom gave them our compound microscope the other night and today I’ve hardly seen them except when I came to help/watch or while we ate dinner.

Do they have solepak where you are? It's iodine-based sticky squish (there is other stuff in it too I think) that you can pack into holes and it stays well. Treats bugs and also seals it up so mud and such can't enter

Another handy thing can be a layer of stockholm tar and then a layer of cotton wool, then another layer of stockholm tar making sure the wool is well saturated. Leave it to dry and it 'sets' - it can (fingers crossed!) stay on as a barrier under mud

I've never heard of that kopertox stuff damn that sounds handy - do you know what's in it?

I'm putting all this stuff down in case of emergency, because it all sounds fantastic. I'm stocked up on Kopertox though.

Kopertox is also really handy in knocking out thrush - just fyi.
