Was talking about hooks with my aunt and we exchanged pics of our collections lol. This is my main hook line-up. My favorites to work with are definitely the tiny old steel ones and the big chunky wood ones. Have a hard time finding hooks I like in the sizes inbetween. I just prefer a pointier hook than is the norm.
But I need sizes 2-4.5mm sometimes... The ergonomic 3.5mm is ok, but not awesome. It's just a bit too blunt. And I hold the hooks loosely enough that I don't really need them to be ergonomic. Often the ergonomic handle gets in the way more than it helps.
They grey metal 5mm in the middle is way too blunt so I never use that tbh, because I can just use the wood one instead. But I'm using the same style 4.5mm for a crop top I'm making right now because it's the only option I have. And the bluntness of it is a constant frustration. I'm good at keeping a loose tension when needed but it's still not enough. Just ugh.
Oh, and this is the hall of shame. Absolutely abhor plastic hooks. And the ergonomic Prym one is doubly rejected because the handle is completely wrong for the way I hold my hook. Need to get rid of these.
(Though there is one plastic hook I love that is somewhere with a project. Super cheap off brand one, but that plastic is just really "slippery". So cannot say I hate every plastic hook. Just these ones.)
