someone from rvv by twt is going around now on Tumblr and finding all the rwde posts about James Ironwood trying to dunk on them.
except for it was by saying to one of my (old) posts "people who are disabled can still be villains, they're not bad because they're disabled" like
bruh. crvvby literally said James losing his other arm made him inhuman. that was his "turning point" or whatever the fuck. they made him into a villain because he was too disabled. like fuck all the way off and leave me and all the other Ironwood lovers alone.
thinking again about how James was cheated out of a cool semblance. His name is Ironwood, you couldn't have made him turn into metal like Colossus? tie it to his fear of being vulnerable (both emotionally and physically), hell you could even make THAT into his tinman allegory where he feels like he's not human when he's metal, like he stops having a heart.
James' semblance, like most of rw/by in general, is just a bunch of wasted potential. so many ideas, like spices and herbs, are thrown into the big ole mixing pot, but it's like they forgot to add a protein so it's just all broth, and an overspiced and weird tasting one at that.
been seeing recently that Adam Taurus' allusion is Gaston from Beauty and the Beast and I'm like, huh? why? that doesn't make any sense to me.
His name is Adam, that was the prince-turned-beast's name. he has a red theme, probably because before the beast gets all gussied up for Belle he just wore a red cloak. his emblem is THE ENCHANTED ROSE, why would his allusion be Gaston? seems to be real reach-y to me because fndm wants to hate him so bad so he can't have an allusion to a redeemable character, he's got to be Gaston.
oh, and then BLAKE can be the beast, and YANG can be the beauty, thanks bee shippers, for another take that makes no sense. Blake's allusion is Belle! The Beauty! From Beauty and the Beast! because she's BELLadonna, she has a love of reading. and Adam is the godsdamed beast! Yang is fucking Goldilocks!
additionally, why would you say that Blake is the beast? like she has to be redeemed of her monsterous-ness? where? just seems like another way to make yang her savior when she doesn't really need one.
anyways I'm going to bed. as always, if you don't like my angry thoughts on this, you can keep scrolling for free! I don't want to engage with you!
fiance is playing totk while I work and I can hear him quietly saying things like:
"Link, why are you so breedable?"
"Just look at those pussy bones!"
and
"You can't tell me he's not transmasc"
watching drawfee with the beloved
him: oh that cloud looks like a pp!
Jacob drawfee on video: And look, this cloud looks like a pp!
him: YEAH!!
kinda weird to see antis in a tag I frequent. just really thrown by the anti post that started out calling out an artist for terf behavior and platforming that ideology take such a hard nose dive into "AND YOU ALSO SHOULDNT LIKE THEM BECAUSE THEY DREW ART OF AGE GAP/PROBLEMATIC SHIPS"
like... bruh, they're characters... they're not real, and 9/10 characters mentioned were adults so like, I don't get the outrage about that.
antis stop trying to use a legitimately concerning thing to platform your weirdly puritanical views challenge 2k23.
so I just started reading Gideon the Ninth after much wondering about what it is all about. and honestly, I still don't know what it's all about, but I am enjoying myself!
I think so far, Dulcinea Septimus is my favorite character, but I suspect she's some kind of backstabber or double agent. She's just too lovely to not be.
