The Truth: Part 1

As Hannah walked through the house she made sure to watch where she stepped. Her uncle had a policy of no shoes in the house, and the floorboards were so old it was likely she could get a splinter if she wasn’t careful. 

Hannah’s uncle was almost never home, and her own parents didn’t care where she went during the day, so Hannah would often go to her uncle's house to check on her little cousin Peter while he was supposed to be by himself.

Hannah came to a stop in front of an old door. It had once been painted white, but it seemed the paint had started to peel ages ago. There was no telling how old her uncle's house was, but it certainly hadn’t been taken care of for generations. 

Hannah took a deep breath and lightly knocked on the door. As expected, there was no response. Hannah knocked again, and spoke up this time. 

“Peter, It’s Hannah. I brought food.” 

She said it loud enough that she knew Peter heard her. Still, there was nothing. Hannah knew better than to give up though. She waited, and eventually she could hear footsteps coming from the other side.

The door unlocked, and Hannah froze the moment she saw him. Across her cousin’s left eye, was a giant gash. The blood had already dried and it started scabbing over, but the cut still looked infected. 

“I-…” Hannah was too stunned to speak. 

“Where’s the food?” Peter asked, his casual tone shocked Hannah even more.

“What happened to your face!?” She yelled, suddenly a million thoughts ran through her head. The one that stood out the most was; I need to get him to a hospital.

I love a possessive Miles and a bit of workplace drama. I would love to see him catching someone in the prosecutors office hitting on the reader constantly, maybe even in front of him after he warned them. Perhaps he even catches Gumshoe trying to ask you out, unbeknownst of Mr. Edgeworth's feelings and maybe even beyond his warnings as well. ~ Hope Anon xx

♟ When Miles began developing feelings for you, he didn’t know what to make of them. He had no prior romantic experience whatsoever, and he’d never felt the desire to pursue a relationship before. So what on Earth was he supposed to do when he suddenly found himself smitten with a coworker of all people?

♟ He’s never been good at hiding his emotions, and this rings especially true when it comes to you. Though he often tries to mask his feelings by acting cold towards you, his body language gives him away. Almost everyone notices the way he subconsciously gravitates towards you whenever you’re in the room.

♟ His interest in you being obvious is something that both frustrates him and eases his nerves a tad. On the one hand, he worries that he’ll scare you off if you find out about his feelings before he’s ready to confess. But on the other, everyone else who was interested in you now knows they need to back off.

♟ At least, he had hoped everyone knew to stay away from you. But as luck would have it, not everyone in the prosecutor’s office was respectful of his “claim” on you. Though the only one with enough courage to actually flirt with you was none other than the office’s prodigy, Klavier Gavin.

♟ Miles tries to brush off Klavier’s advances towards you at first. He assures himself that this is just how Klavier is and that his flirtations mean nothing. He’s a rock star, after all; surely he’s more interested in his groupies than in some random coworker, right?

♟ But the longer Klavier’s flirty attitude towards you doesn’t change, the more worried he becomes. There’s no way he’s making a move on you, not when Miles’ feelings are so blatantly obvious. When it comes to a point where he can’t deny it any longer, he decides to confront him directly.

♟ During their “talk”, he never outright tells him to stay away, only that you’re very uncomfortable with his flirting. To which Klavier responds by telling him that if you were really that uncomfortable with his advances, you would have told him so yourself. Besides, there’s no rule against dating coworkers, he says.

♟ Though he manages to keep his composure in the moment, that conversation leaves Miles seething with rage. He couldn’t... He can’t possibly be hinting at wanting to ask you out, could he? It’s enough to make Miles seriously consider looking for a way to get the young prosecutor disbarred.

♟ However, it seems fate had other plans, as Klavier soon leaves to tour the states with his band shortly after their confrontation. Miles feels so relieved when he hears about this, thankful he didn’t have to get his hands dirty in order to ensure you remain his. He’d hate to have to ruin a prodigy’s career so early...

♟ But luck doesn’t remain on his side forever. It’s not even a week after Klavier’s departure that he realizes he has yet another romantic rival to deal with. This one, however, was the last person he expected to be competing with for your love.

♟ He arrived at the precinct early one morning in search of Detective Gumshoe, hoping to receive some good news about the case he was currently working on. Sure enough, he finds his detective partner standing near the door when he enters, shakily clutching a bouquet of roses.

♟ Right as he’s about to grab his attention, he loses focus when he sees you walking by, holding evidence for your latest trial. It only takes a few seconds for his world to come crumbling down as he’s forced to watch Gumshoe awkwardly ask you out. What’s worse is that you have the audacity to accept.

♟ But he manages to bite his tongue and swiftly exit the building before either of you notice his presence. Once he gets to his car, it takes him several minutes to calm down before he can think clearly again. He couldn’t... How can... Why... Oh, the nerve of that man! Thinking he has any right to steal you away from him!

♟ After cooling down a bit, he begins thinking of ways to stop this date. Getting Gumshoe to leave you alone is a matter for another time; right now, this blasted outing needs his full attention. After a bit of thinking, he decides it’d be best to keep it simple and just obtain some information first.

♟ After he’s sure you’ve left the precinct, he goes in and meets with Gumshoe as he’d originally planned. Much to his anger, the detective is practically beaming with joy, and readily babbles on about how happy he is that you accepted his date invitation.

♟ Miles listens to him carefully, occasionally asking some seemingly harmless question under the guise of making polite conversation. As it turns out, Gumshoe had scheduled his date for that evening, making Miles’ plan much easier to execute.

♟ So, later that day, rather than preparing for his date, Gumshoe finds himself investigating a crime scene with Miles. Even though it’s been thoroughly searched, he insists that there might be some important clues they missed. As such, Gumshoe has to cancel his date with you.

♟ During that time, Miles makes a point of bringing you up in conversation several times. He talks about how happy you make him feel, and that he feels there’s “something special” between you two. Still, any hints at his feelings for you seems to go right over Gumshoe’s head, much to his disdain.

♟ The following morning, when Miles goes into work, he feels a sick sort of satisfaction when he notices your slightly sullen mood. Before he can comfort you, however, he’s immediately interrupted by Gumshoe bursting through the door, out of breath and with baked goods in hand.

♟ And again, he suffers silently as he’s forced to watch him apologize to you. He hands you the baked goods, saying how he wanted to get you lunch as an apology. And you, ever the sweetheart, instantly forgive him, and even give him a second chance. Miles is left fuming once again.

♟ Finally, he hits his breaking point. He’s had enough. All these dimwits vying for your affection need to understand one thing: you belong to him and he’s prepared to ruin anyone who may think otherwise. But after taking a moment to reflect on his long history with Gumshoe, he decides to try being merciful.

♟ Later that evening, he calls him up to his office. And Gumshoe, ever clueless, starts babbling and asking if he needs anything. However, seeing that deadly look in Miles’ eyes shuts him up rather quickly. He suddenly becomes much more nervous as he asks if he did anything wrong.

♟ Miles keeps his tone sounding cold and lifeless, only adding onto the tense atmosphere in the room. He explains, in somewhat vague terms, his deep fondness for you, and how he’d rather not lose you to someone else. Gumshoe can barely stutter a word out in his confusion.

♟ To drive his point home, Miles goes on to say what a “tragedy” it’d be if someone were to ask you out. That seems to do the trick. The double meaning doesn’t seem to be lost on the detective, who’s usually rather slow at picking up these kinds of things.

♟ When he’s dismissed, Gumshoe practically bolts out the door. He’s quick to cancel his date with you, afraid to find out what would happen if he doesn’t. Miles, on the other hand, feels nothing but satisfaction, despite knowing he’s just abused his position to rid himself of a romantic rival.

♟ None of this gets back to you, obviously; he makes sure of it. He’s there to comfort you when you need it, assuring you that you deserve better. Of course, you readily accept his words, and eventual date invitation. After all, it’s not like you have a choice.

The glittery crop top fit over their body like a dream, and you were almost upset that you couldn't pull it off yourself- God knows you've tried.

The article of "clothing" that stole the show, however, were the pink booty shorts, so neon they're practically glowing. The shorts pulled against their behind, shaping their perfectly sculpted thighs- and leaving little to the imagination at the most important part, of course.

"Perfect," You said, a mischievous grin overcame the features of your face, "You look gorgeous, Hope!"

"I cannot," Hope attempts to tug down the shorts, "move, will this not effect my efficiency in combat?"

"It'll make 'em hesitate, that's for fucking sure."
