Joseph seems to think that the process of rewriting such a ritual is an egregious sin, since the original ritual is lost amidst the rewriting. He gives as an example, the Bornless One rite, which was remade by the Golden Dawn members into one of the most beautiful and powerful rituals in our current arsenal of modern lore. The original ritual is inelegant, crude and was used as a means to perform a powerful exorcism. Yet the new version corrupted some of the words of power or omitted some of them altogether. A modern magician could extract a version of the “Headless One” rite from the original text and make it work, and the Golden Dawn version can be performed, and it works as well. Of course, the magician who uses the original rite isn’t actually reading and performing the rite in Koine Greek, but that doesn’t seem to matter at all.

New novel by Jaci Burton-- HOPE!!! If you have been following me here or Goodreads you may know by now that Jaci is one of my favorites of all time. She's absolutely a genius when it comes to emotions, human life, lifestyle, sports... and well, yummy men. All her books reviews are here, btw.

I have no idea why I took so long to buy this book, but it couldn't have come in a better time for me. Mid-week, too hot of a weather, no chocolate... so, this is my chocolate. LOL, sorry, **giggled**. And yes, I have been keeping my word to take it slow. Read in three days... or two and a half days (whatever). You know what I mean if you've read my last review...

Here's a snapshot and later on a summary for you all.

Independent and driven, she's not letting any man get in the way of her dreams. Not again. That's fine with Luke McCormack. Divorced and hardly lacking in female company when he needs it, he's devoted to the only faithful companion in his life--his police dog. Still, there's something about Emma he can't shake. When a series of local break-ins leaves Emma vulnerable, she seeks help from the first man to spark her desire in years. And now they're giving each other something they thought they'd lost forever...hope.

Okayis... The story was absolutely AWESOME. Mystery, Laugh, and hotness (and the dogs too, for animal lovers) were present from page 1 to the last page. 

After some abusive relationship many years ago, Emma (our lover for animals) now is a free woman opening and owning a vet clinic in her hometown, Hope, and striving for success amongst her town folks, friendship, and err... relationship that will land on her lap one way or another.

Luke is the hot-guy who strives for one-night-stands and is afraid of commitment after a failed marriage. And plus, he's protecting his town -- he's a sexy cop with handcuffs..LOL--and obviously he's also not looking for a relationship. 

This couple of kindred spirits will bound in their own time, but the tension between them will be clear, and as you read their lack of relationship will flourish into something so much more after Emma's past tries to bite her in the ass (more like kidnapping, and maybe, killing, not sure -- nothing happens thou..) and their feelings will come forward on full speed.

I have no idea if I can say more, or if I just don't feel like spoiling you any more... Did I mention this Hope is a new series? Did I also mention that Hope Flames actually brings a sneak peek of book #2? Well, didn't read that one just because its release is only on March (the 25th to be exact) and I don't dig torture too much. The title is Hope Ignites.

I'm hoping this review was enough to get you going for this series, I did love, and can't wait. Just not gonna kill myself reading what I cannot read 100% just yet. Thank you all for reading this review and my mumbling at the beginning. See you all on the next book.
