              there's a part of her  (  small ,  and shoved even further away  )   that insists it is her JOB.   oh but mother ,  did you not send your child down to her death  ?     there's a small part of her heart which aches ,   grieving the days when clarke would follow close on her heels ,  imitating her mother's every move  ,  pretending to check things off of her imaginary clipboard as she had seen so many times before.  swallowing past a lump that's formed in her throat ,     ❛   ——   i know that ,  clarke.   ❜     though somehow ,  it only made her want to intercede more ,   as though clarke were more vulnerable now than ever before.   though she cautions herself ,  clarke survived those years without her.   this was no new malady.    ❛  but i'm still your mother.  i'd still want to protect you.  even if . . .  this hadn't happened.  ❜    /  @hopefalling ( x )
