Week 2:
Today I’m going to talk about one of my favorite organizations for rescue animals! This organization is called Hope For Paws and I have been following its success for a couple of years now. Hope For Paws is located in Los Angeles, California, although they have traveled as far as Arizona to rescue different animals. This is an organization that I will be referencing to a lot throughout this blog since I believe that they have some of the best rescue stories out there. I felt like I should introduce this organization first since it is one that I personally believe does some of the greatest things for animals all around their area. On their website at http://www.hopeforpaws.org/ you can look at different photos of animals that they have saved and read some of the different tales of them too. They are a non-profit organization which is a big part of why I support them. When I hear of an organization being non-profit, I immediately know that the people who work or volunteer there are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. It’s good to know that when you donate to them, they are using all of the funds to help brighten an animals life.
They also say that their goal is to “educate people on the importance of companion animals in our society to stop the cycle of animal neglect and abuse.” I think that an essential part of ending animal negligence is educating people on it so that they can notice the signs of it happening around them and know when and how to report it. I think that a big problem of animal abuse is not only the abuser, but the bystanders who are either too lazy or don’t feel like it is serious enough to report. Hope For Paws is spreading the word about this so that people have a number to contact if they have any questions or concerns. They also have a multiple social media account which can all be found either on their website or on their youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/eldad75). I love the way that they use social media because I think that it is the fastest way to spread information about basically anything. They have a Twitter, Flickr, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram, and the before-mentioned youtube channel. Across these accounts, they post ways that you can help. They also post videos of the actual rescues they perform so you can see exactly what they do and how they do it. I love watching these videos and all of the girls in my dorm know me as the one obsessed with the dog rescue videos because I find them so interesting.
If you want to donate to Hope For Paws please do not hesitate! Click or copy and paste the link to their website into your search bar! Any amount can help towards saving another life! Thanks so much for coming to my blog this week, and I hope you stick around for next week and weeks to come!
Please Read!
Guys, please take few minutes to read this. Some time ago I found this channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdu8QrpJd6rdHU9fHl8J01A and I watched all the videos in like one day and cried a lot. Those people saved hundreds of dogs already and will save many more. If I lived in USA I wouldn’t hesitate to join them in saving lives but unfortunatly I live way too far away. As soon as I get a job I’m going to donate monthly as much as I can (my currency is 4 times lower than dollar unfortunatly) but if u guys can then please donate and help this amazing people save more animals! Even 5$ is okay and if many people donate at least that 5$ it will grow to much bigger amount! For almost 11 years I had a boxer named “Saba” but last summer holidays she fell really sick and we had to say goodbye to her. I miss her very much and I cry everytime I think about her (I am crying while writing this too). If you have a dog, love it and take care of it because you never know when you’ll have to say goodbye to your friend! Here is the donation link: http://www.hopeforpaws.org/donationrecurring And please make sure to reblog! The more people see this the better. Help them save more lives!
On June 11th, 2014 (Hope For Paws' exact 6th anniversary), I was invited to meet with Betty White at her home. Einstein, who was a homeless dog just two months prior to this meeting, immediately jumped on her couch and made himself home :-) I got to share with Betty some #HopeForPaws rescue stories, we took some pictures, and enjoyed a fun afternoon with this lovely and funny woman who always loved animals. I met her two more times that year... one time on a television show ( #CauseForPaws ) where she hugged and kissed Lexus and her puppies, and another time at a private birthday dinner. To honor her legacy, I hope you will join the viral #BettyWhiteChallenge to celebrate her 100th birthday and make a one-time $5 donation on our website: https://www.HopeForPaws.org We all owe her so many laughs and I hope you will join us today to celebrate her life. Thank you so much! Eldad Something funny I saw today from Betty: “My mother always used to say, ‘The older you get, the better you get, unless you're a banana.’" R.I.P Betty
