It was cold, freezing really. He was used to this already. The feeling of the darkness as he fell deeper into it. Things have been this way for a long time now. Ever since his sacrifice to save his friends, who have long since given up on the idea that he’d ever open his eyes again, he’s been like this.
The faint sounds of beeping cut into the darkness, growing louder as he grew more aware of it. He felt... so heavy, yet he felt lighter than ever. His consciousness gradually grew less fuzzy and he winced at the brightness above him.
Part of him flew into panic, making the beeping next to him go a bit faster. Where was he? What happened?? He tried gasping for breath, though found it difficult with.. a breathing tube, he guessed, obstructing his throat. He moved to claw at the tube, but his arms barely moved. They felt like rubber.
Nurses came in, probably hearing the elevation in his pulse, and it wasn’t long until they realized that he was awake. A few hours passed with them checking his vitals before they decided it would be ok to take out the breathing tube. Then he was left alone again, with no explanation of where he was or what happened.
