I'm a 15 yr old girl and I recently started a 10 trial of medroxyprogesterone to see if I am capable of me starting because it had been 17 months since my last one. Do I need to take it at the same time everyday? What are the side effects? I didn't get clear answers from my doctor...
Here’s the Drugs.com article on this. You also should have been given information from either your doctor or pharmacist.
You need to take it as your doctor or pharmacist told you, either to your face or how it’s written on a label or other paper given to you. Most medications should be taken around the same time every day, but some are very strictly needed at the same time. Hormonal medications are often the latter kind. However, I can’t tell you what’s right, as I’m not the person who gave it to you.
The article I linked has a more exhaustive list of potential side effects, including alarming ones you should report right away. Typically the common side effects are like period symptoms, such as spotting, menstrual irregularity, breast tenderness, bloating, nausea, and weight gain.
