A gender related to an experience and attachment to womanhood as described specifically in Carol Clover’s “Men, Women and Chainsaws” essay and as pioneered by Tobe Hooper’s “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”.
This gender doesn’t necessarily have to be paired with other feminine identities, and can also apply those with a distant and detached relationship to womanhood but still identify with the trauma of growing up AFAB.
This is related to the tropes of the Final Girl, the empathy of the audience towards female characters in the horror genre and the emasculation of the killer via the removal of his weapon by the actions of the Final Girl.
