I made I think some kind of breakthrough in project management and I wanted to try really going ahead and making the sprites for at least a test of an anime inspired horror visual novel??? I need to do something not amazing for my first project so it can be a learning project without being too disappointing if it’s janky as hell...
Probably gonna pull a persona style “the year is 201X” and just have it vaguely themed like my own personal nostalgia. So when things are blatantly wrong it’s a purposeful choice to take it out of any realm of reality and just like.... ‘trying to recapture what it felt like when I was hugely into anime’ rather than accurate to Japan or a correct usage of Japanese literary tropes. I think part of the gag is pretending it was localized and that’s why so many things feel like....that era of localization too. This is *my* anime experience.
So I am thinking of really awkward and randomly chosen English names like Rachel Lopinksi or something that is just really clearly not the intended Japanese name.
