Day 3: Glow! 💖✨
I've been playing Palia a lot, so here's Jel in his beautiful glasses and thread.
The Thief and the Sleuth
"Your arrogance has cost you, thief."
"As if you're the humble sort." Raffles smiled at the detective. "I knew our paths would cross."
"Is that why you flaunt your crimes? To draw my eye?"
"Don't flatter yourself, Holmes, you're not my type. Now, that handsome doctor of yours?"
Daily Drabble 330- Evermore
The myths were incorrect.
It was not Arthur who’d return to aid Britain in their desperate hour, but Myddin.
And it was not Britain he came to help.
Some wondered why the sorcerer had slept so long.
Why not rouse when the Romans came? Or the Norsemen?
Why slumber when William conquered or bombs fell?
For he waited until his people were ready.
When they yearned for liberty, and found the will to claim it.
Myrddin returned beneath the Red Dragon banner.
And the armies and weapons of the enemy could not match his magic.
And Cymru was free evermore.
Daily Drabble 255- Vivacious
The countess surprised Cziraky.
She was fifty, yet possessed the grace and beauty of a woman less than half her age.
But her beauty did little to dispel his nerves.
He’d dismissed much of the rumours as exaggerated superstition, but the Bathory castle felt wrong.
Too cold.
Too few servants.
The countess’ strange energy.
Attractive, verily, but a dangerous beauty, arousing fear alongside desire.
Cziraky waited for a moment’s distraction, then set his crucifix upon the table.
The castle held no signs of Christianity.
The countess turned.
Recoiling, her handsome face twisted in revulsion..
The peasants were right.
A vampire!
Very Short Story- Underground
It was the 4th day of clearing the caverns, every turn threatening more of the feral, fanged xenos.
"Hey, sarge, I ever tell you why I joined the Guard?"
"No, Trap."
"Grew up on Vestinog IV. Mining world." Trap smiled. "I enlisted so I wouldn't die underground."
Very Short Story- Missing Key
Isaac took a deep breath before he plunged into the tank.
Through the glass Anya smiled at him, pulling down the curtain.
He retrieved the keys.
The water seemed to chill as he found the one for the first lock wasn't on the ring.
He wasn't getting out
Very Short Story- Cackle
The cackle and taunt echoed in his mind.
"You look the wrong way for evil, rattler."
The witch had the sight. And she'd seen true.
Jim looked at the hanging bodies, vampire hunters all.
Evil had snuck in behind them. And now it ruled Britain.
Very Short Story- Diseased Soul
They had turned the palace into a nightmare. The air hung heavy with death and decay.
The rebels moved through the gory halls, their torches illuminating the twisted trophies of flesh.
And then, in the great hall on a throne born of a diseased soul was the King
