I’ve had an admittedly rough few days. Unrelated to fish entirely but that is how I came to purchase this female calico horyu. I’ve been waiting for another to be posted so as soon as I saw it was a female I knew I had to add her to the pond.

Two new additions that will be shipping out with the girl I posted about earlier today.
The big calico hamanishki is a male, and the red and white female is called a horyu (穂竜), which is a crowned pearlscale/telescope cross. I hope to incorporate a few of each type, but the horyu sell fast and I was only able to grab one 🥲
Powerless to resist the chance to buy itty bitty fish. Cannot wait to grow out these telepearls 🥹 better pics when they arrive this week.
How can you not love these cuties? The top fish is a calico horyuu (tele-pearl) and the bottom two fish are red and white hamanishiki (crowned pearlscale). Pearlscale goldfish are known for their domed scales, which resemble pearls. Every scale has a calcium deposit on it, giving each a bright white appearance.
One of the two fish from Dandy Orandas that I received yesterday! This fish is often called a telepearl because it is a cross of a telescope and a pearlscale but the japanese name for it is the horyu (穂竜). I can't wait to have a few of these guys in my pearlscale group.
I hate to love these two. Goshdarnit.
