So I found out that last night I apparently met Sen. Mitch McConnell and his wife, Elaine Chao, the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, when I walked them and their two friends to their table and I literally?? Had no clue??? Like I’m so disconnected from politics that I *gasp* treated them like regular people??????

Also, Elaine was lovely, but the men threw a bitch fit when I took them to their table, demanding another, larger table that we were saving for another party, which of course the managers let them have. And honestly??? I’m not surprised

Post Party

When you're too tired and lazy to clean up from last night's party so you just go to sleep and guilt people who slept over into cleaning up for you. I still have to wash every surface so there's that. Good party.

I worked 10 hours today. No one who came to the restaurant even cared that I worked the day before and no one was able to spend the holidays with their family. It's awful. I legit hate people.

Dear The One

When you harass the sweetest and most kind staff member all eyes with be on you. As you go to sit at your tables or use the restroom. Word spreads and it spreads fast. Everyone will know you as The One. The one who was mean to the cinnamon roll; the one everyone adores and wants to protect. Everyone is as close to an enemy as they can be. Will they lash out? Nope. Will your food take a few minutes longer than necessary? Who knows. Will you receive the best possible service possible? Questionable. And did you make them cry or upset them? Hope not. ‘Cause that person you acted that way towards is so sweet, hard working. and helpful. It’s one thing to just be a rude guest, but it’s taken on a much more personal level when directed towards certain people.

Honestly just be kind to people. You have lives and struggles of your own but being in the service industry doesn’t make it right to use wait staff as a quick punching bag. You won’t be the only one that does it either. They’ve probably gotten it a few times that day. Your just chipping away at them.
