I Need A Hero (Klaine Drabble)
Klaine AU Drabble inspired by this photo
Summary: Kurt is kidnapped by the menacing rivals of New Directions; The Warblers. Nightbird (also known as Blaine) has to make some drastic desicions in order to save Kurt and no longer put his (ex?)boyfriend into harms way.
Characters: Kurt Hummel, Blaine Anderson/Nightbird, The Warblers, OC
"Nightbird! Somebody has left a laptop in the Mission Center! I suggest you come see it immediately!" Chai Tea announces loudly, a frantic look upon her face as she motions for Blaine to -who's secret super-alter-ego is Nightbird- come with her.
Blaine rushes out of his seat, and with his fellow heroes trailing behind him, he runs down the halls; all the way to the Mission Center. He scurries up to the laptop that was placed atop the small area of the main desk, and see's the screen.
The black screen read: Press Play.
Blaine lunged forward, tapping the play button and settling back to sit down on the navy blue leather couch along with the others. They all watched as the screen lit up with the image of Hunter C. and Sebastian C. -along with a few other of The Warblers' pack- appeared clear.
They had Blaine's one true weakness. Blaine's heart-wrenching, stomach-churning, tear-spilling weakness. The one thing Blaine is truly weak for. The only thing Blaine's ever been weak for.
Kurt Elizabeth Hummel: Blaine's recent ex-boyfriend -just one month ago, he lost him, he's still struggling to even get to work these days because of his guilt and pain- that he'd lost after cheating on him while he was lonely because of Kurt's current internship at Vogue.com's headquarters in New York.
Blaine's heart beats hard and fast at seeing Kurt. But the admiration is cut short when he realizes the situation. He sees the duck-tape over Kurt's lips; the rope's tied around his hands; and the most hurtful one of all: the terrified look in Kurt's beautiful glasz eyes.
New Directions," Hunter smirks, his eyes cold and remorseful. A true villian at heart; and he seemed to have no intention on changing.
"Well, as you may see, we have a hostage. Mr. Hummel here- whom I believe is special to a certain someone in your group, isn't that right?"
Hunter smiles in a sickening manner, motioning towards Kurt's figure that has been sat in a chair. "Hm, the situation here is that we want something. We want the Key Of Nationals, the good way or the bad way. Consider this the good way, if you will. Now, the thing is that if we don't get the Key Of Nationals, we'll kill Kurt. Simple as that. Bullet through the heart."
Blaine's breath hitched in his throat. Kurt can't die. He just can't. Blaine sprung up to his feet, and listened closely to the next couple of sentences spoken.
"So, if you want poor Kurt here to live to see another day, I suggest you bring us the Key. Or else, it's bye-bye Kurtsie. You have until noon today!"
The screen shifted to black, and everybody's eyes were on Blaine.
"I have to go get him," Blaine spoke, his voice shaky and full of rage towards the Warblers. "I have to."
"No! Blaine- we can't risk this it's too much, it's-" Tina protests, but is cut short be a loud yell from Blaine.
"YOU DON'T GET IT! NONE OF YOU DO! BECAUSE NONE OF YOU CARE! FOR WEEKS, I'VE BEEN REACHING OUT IN DESPRETE NEED OF HELP; BECAUSE I'VE LOST THE LOVE OF MY LIFE! AND NONE OF YOU EVEN BLINKED AN EYE! WELL, GUESS WHAT, I QUIT! I'M DONE BEING NIGHTBIRD! I'M FINISHED! YOU CAN ALL CONTINUE THIS DANGEROUS GAME OF PRETEND, BUT I'M NOT! I HAVE TO GO SAVE MY SOULMATE NOW, BECAUSE WE DECIDED IT WAS OUR JOB TO DEFEND LIMA FROM WESTERVILLE! WELL, I'M DROPPING OUT!" Blaine screamed, ripping off his black cape, and throwing it down onto the ground.
"I'm moving. Lima hasn't been under much villians' attack list for quite a time now, so it's over for me. I'm focusing on my life. I'm too young for this, anyways. We're all still in High School, guys. It's time to drop the act we put up and ditch the superhero alter-ego," Blaine's words are small and meek, as he runs out of the room to rescue Kurt from the clutches of evil.
But this time, he's out of his disguise.
Blaine approaches the Warblers' main headquarters, with breath unsteady and his face crumpled up with worry. He glances down at his watch, seeing that is was only thirty minutes until noon. Blaine quietly walks across the front-lawn of the massive building, starin at the gates with determination.
Blaine sucked in a deep breath, grasping a silver handle in his hand and beggining to scale the gate one step at a time. He reaches the other side in a matter of five minutes, and rushed into the main door's of Dalton. He wandered the halls, until he found the room he'd been looking for.
He heard mumurring from the inside, so he decided to hide out near the room. He found a small cabinet, and -god bless his small size fore his age- he squeezed himself inside. Around five minutes later, he heard the Warblers vacating the room, going out for a short lunch, he presumes. Blaine softly falls out from the cabinet, quietly entering the room he'd been previously spying on.
Blaine scanned the room, and heard a groan of frustration come from near him. He whips his head around, only to see what he'd been looking for.
Blaine rushes to Kurt, kneeling down and ripping off the duck-tape from his lips softly, and smiling slightly at Kurt. Blaine felt his heart sweel with both heartbreak, and comfort with Kurt's presense.
"Kurt, you're okay," Blaine breaths out, beggining to untie Kurt's hands free from the ropes.
"Blaine," Kurt said excitedly in a hushed tone, so his captors couldn't catch them. "You came to rescue me."
"Ofcourse I did," Blaine looked up at Kurt once he'd finished untying the knots. "I wouldn't let the man I love die because I was stupid enough to try and protect Lima from a rival."
"I've missed you so much," Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine's neck; nestling his head in the crook of Blaine's neck.
"I've missed you, too," Blaine's voice is shaky, as he pulls away and grasps Kurt's hand in his. "But let's chat later. We have to get out of here- they'll be back any minute."
"Alright," Kurt smiles, standing up and following Blaine to the balcony.
"We have to jump," Blaine says, as he stands at the edge of the railing.
"We what!?" Kurt panic's, shaking his head at Blaine. "We'll get killed!"
"No, we won't. I've jumped off of four story building and landed fine. Two story's is nothing, Kurt," Blaine chuckles. "Here, just- just hold onto me, okay?"
Kurt nods, wrapping his amrs around Blaine, and Blaine grasps onto the thin railing beneath him. Blaine leaps off of the balcony's edge, plumeting down onto the soft grass below him. He lands on his feet, turning to Kurt with a proud grin planted across his face.
"Kurt, we've landed," Blaine laughs, shaking Kurt's shoulders.
"We're alive?" Kurt whimpers, refusing to let go of Blaine.
"Yes, we are. Now let's go, we're getting off this campus immediately," Blaine urges, yanking Kurt with him as they quickly run across the lawn.
And when they get to Kurt's home in West Lima, they cuddle eachother and decide it would be best for Blaine to finish his studies in New York.
So, that's precisely what he does; completely leaving his alter-ego behind.
