Grafana 2.1

We’re pleased to announce that we have upgraded to the latest version of Grafana (2.1). 

Building upon the UI changes, new features and structural changes introduced in Grafana 2.0, Grafana 2.1 brings with it a number of small changes which will help you to get even more out of your dashboards.

Features such as multi-valued templates combined with repeating dashboard panels & rows, allows for more control over your data. You’ll also find that panels are more customisable and allow you greater control over how your graphs will look once rendered.

Annotations and Events

We’re pleased to announce our Annotations feature. 

Annotations allow you to record intermittent happenings in your infrastructure - for example deploying a new build to your servers, marking when that long-running reporting task completes, or flagging that nasty outage you just fixed (I hope you don’t need to use that one).

Hosted Graphite Android App!

We're happy to announce our new Hosted Graphite android app. The Graphite web interface is powerful and super-customizable, but not always the best thing to use on a mobile device. Our new Android app gives you a secure way to easily view your dashboards and graphs in a way that suits phones and tablets. 

Big thanks to our friend Barry O'Neill who did a fantastic job on this app.

Hosted Graphite widget for Geckoboard

If you're a fan of Geckoboard, you'll now find Hosted Graphite listed on their widgets! This dashboard widget lets you use our access keys feature to connect your metrics to Geckoboard.  Thanks to the Geckoboard team for making this type of integration super-simple.

Hosted StatsD Beta

Etsy's StatsD aggregator for Graphite is one the most popular additions to any Graphite install, and it's no surprise that it's one of our most requested features. While we already have a backend plugin for StatsD, a lot of people don't want to run the service themselves.  - so it makes sense for us to do it.

Our hosted StatsD service is currently in beta and we have several customers testing it at the moment. Once released publicly it will be available on the Medium plans and above at no additional cost, and customers on smaller plans will be able to add it to their account for a small additional fee. If you're an existing customer, let us know if you'd like to get on the beta list. If you're not an existing customer, why not? Check out our free trial!

Hosted Graphite available on AppFog

We've been hard at work putting together our integrations with different providers and tool sets, and today we're pleased to announce that Hosted Graphite is now available in the AppFog partner Ecosystem!

AppFog's Paas supports Java, Python, Node, Ruby and PHP as well as lots of other useful technical tools. With Hosted Graphite, AppFog customers now have a scalable metrics collector for you to track, analyze and visualize your performance data. All the goodness of scalable Graphite metrics with the convenience of a multi-language platform-as-a-service!
