Nothing is as hostile within modern products for computers/mobile than trying to find the non-existent "opt out" option for having your entire life being scraped into a generative AI, including photos of your teenage years. Don't make me jump through hoops just to find where the hell you hid that shit only to learn that you didn't even implement a simple function like that and that I have to find a link you hid onto completely wrong area in order to send a formal objection to bring up my right to not have my fucking face be put into that thing so someone can generate an NSFW image to fap to with a face of my sixteen year old self attached to it.
That shit is most definitely illegal and the person who approved that to begin with (scraping the database of an app used to exclusively post photos of your life so you can share it with your friends and relatives with ease which contains a lot of photos of small children, teens, elderly, and people who are already dead to be put into a generative ai tool without explicitly being consented to it) needs to be put into a house arrest without modern technology and a very strict teacher who will hammer into their heads the concept of consent, rights, and not pulling something that heinous ever again.
The second most hostile thing within modern products especially designed to be used with items capable of connecting into the Internet is the abundance of advertisements and the fact that no matter how much you attempt to control what kinds of ads you get, sooner or later you will encounter either a humongous popup that you can't find the tiny close the window cross of, an ad with something that can harm you, an ad that is loud as hell and you can't find the source of or it's just otherwise an ad you didn't even want to know the existence of. And then there's the whole multiple ads issue, not to mention being forced to pay the company that is hosting these ads to not see them only for the thing you view to still have product placements in them because the people aren't getting paid fairly and thus have to rely on sponsors.
And then there's things that shouldn't need to be connected to the Internet being connected to it. Why are you connecting lights to it? What if the Internet service goes under? Why does this writing program that hasn't received any updates in ten years require Internet access and refuse to work without it? What the hell do sex toys need the Internet for? Why would an oven, or a fridge, or a freezer, need to be connected to the Internet? Bro, did you just attach this thing that doesn't even have an mmo function into the Internet? IT'S FROM THE LATE 90S WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?? Why is my pod asking for the WiFi password? This thing doesn't even have fucking buttons and the screen is so small that you can barely make out the letters that tell you the name of the song and how long it'll play!
