Still in my hot wings kick and naturally, I checked out Buffalo Wild Wings. Habanero officially means 'assburn' to me. Lol.

Next up in our ARIA Nomination Special: GYPSY & THE CAT! The boys are nominated for Best Pop Act! We caught up with the boys earlier this year at Hot BBQ and they had a chat about making their debut album and what they do when they're not making music. You'll never guess what their weird hobby is...
Hot BBQ
Ok so first journal entry! I am going to quite a few festivals this summer so I thought it would be a good idea to report on each one. First we will start with Hot BBQ which was held in Portsea down the peninsula on 22/01/2011. I was extra excited for this festival because for the last 3 months I have been excessively playing Gypsy and the Cat and Kids of 88 on my iphone just so I knew every word to just about every song;) I couldnt have asked for a better day, the weather was immaculate (sunny, blue skys, slight breeze). I was staying in central Portsea and the festival was in Point Nepean so it would have been a bit of a walk down....so I stuck my thumb out and a couple of surfer dudes let me jump in and drove me right up to the gate. Police and sniffer dogs were lining the front and there were groups of people standing around looking a little worried haha but I just cruzed straight through and had my ticket scanned. I heard that about 40 people got done for carrying drugs (naughty naughty). The line was moving fast which is always a good thing! After I got in there was no one I immediately wanted to see so I walked around and checked out the set up. Three stages all next to each other. Unless you were directly in front of the stage it was a little annoying because you could hear two bands playing at the same time but otherwise easy to get around and wasnt a problem. I then decided it was drinking time and lined up. I assumed the drinks were going to be a little pricey as they always are at festivals but I paid $11.50 for a vodka and V....$11.50!!!!!! You can imagine how quickly I spent the $100 I brought with me. As shit as the prices were the lines were moving fast. After dancing to some dj's it came to 6pm so I rushed over to the lamb chop stage to see Gypsy and the Cat....easily the highlight of the day!!! Amazing vocals by Xavier Bacash, I was blown away. Looking forward to seeing them again at Big Day Out. Kids of 88 were on directly after Gypsy so I hung around (went to the toilet found a handbag, returned it and was bought a drink for my good deeds;) Crowd had thinned a bit by the time they were on so I pushed my way to the front. Once again amazing vocals, felt like I was listening to my ipod. I strongly urge anyone who hasnt listened to them to check them out. I was starting to get a little tired by this time so wandered round for a little bit over to Hoodoo Gurus, sat back and watched the rather large crowd going off. Saw Molly Meldrum (complete goose) pretending to dj on stage. He either looked badly drug affected or realllllly smashed. Think its time for him to head into the land of retirement. I decided it was now time to head home so jumped on the bus and off I went! All in all an amazing day with good people and some great bands!
summer festivals never get old when you're with the right people <3
Hot Barbeque - amazing.
Okay, so I went to this festival today called The Hot BBQ and I'd been expecting to have a really crappy time but it was actually so freaking damn awesome.
I probably spent way too much and got a bit too drunk but it honestly just made the day even more fun, we saw so many bloody bands (Boy & Bear played Fall At Your Feet JUST SO YA KNOW) which kind of made up for Pyramid where I saw maybe five bands all up...
Anyway, I'm too tired to go on and on about it all but overall, awesome day with an awesome bunch of people.
