i wasn’t kidding when i made that EC comics joke about gigi! you’d never guess it with the way my art looks now, but i used to be OBSESSED with vintage horror and lowbrow illustration and it influenced my art and interests for many years.

while gigi’s characterization is heavily inspired by melodramatic characters from old movies, i associate old pulp horror with her visually.

ryan heshka is a contemporary artist of this genre and one of my favorite artists ever—he just captures the totally weird and wild world of pulp that i love, and his work informs my design decisions for gigi so much!

invoking weird glamour campiness with the innate horror that comes with ghoulification truly feels like coming back to something very familiar. maybe that’s why i like gigi so much. 💚

2, 6 and G OC creator questions for Jeih! Been following you since before the Jeih Days(tm) but I don't know much about the yellow noodle :o

#2 (How easy is it for your character to laugh?)

Jeih: VERY. He is amused by many things and laughs a lot.

#6 (Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?)

Jeih: What laws?! Good luck trying to get him to observe anyone's laws unless he's so motivated, playing his games, or under threat of significant force (*cough* Ary *cough*). They don't mean anything to him otherwise.

G (What trait of theirs bothers you the most?)

Jeih is involved in so much spiderwebbed crap, on both Lockian and non-Lockian levels. His ability to manipulate and suck people into his nonsense can be amusing, and fun - but can be equally toxic and annoying. And in a part of his arc, he turns on a dime when he's bored.

🛡️: Oh, that's gotta be the MJOLNIR Mark VI MOD and MJOLNIR GEN2 Mark VI MOD (or: John's armour in Halo 4 & Halo 5, respectively). To me, it's. It's the armour. Design-wise, it looks how the Spartans are described in the books. Tall. Powerful. Physically imposing. Encased head to toe in hi-tech armour that, while looking somewhat robotic, also really does look like some kind of expensive, ODST-esque prototype in the same breath.

It's beautiful.

Although, I'm not too proud to admit that I sincerely wish the GEN2 Mk VI MOD possessed a codpiece. It looks hella silly without it lol.

for the not-pain prompts, john and lasky doing Domestic Stuff either aboard Infinity or maybe even after they retire if that strikes ur fancy.

He'd heard Palmer taking bets with Bradley and Jet about how long it would take for him to make his move. Little did she know that he'd already talked to Chief. Not that he would call sharing a meal with the Master Chief making a move on the man.

Requiem was still heavy on everyone's minds and his new captaincy was enough to keep him busy, but Lasky had managed to coax the living legend out of his simple routine to share meals in the officer's mess.

They talked about everything and nothing, well Lasky did. The Spartan sitting across from him listened, and offered comments from time to time. Tom considered it a victory when the man huffed a laugh about his story about the banshee and Ankara.

It was a start.

Chief had stopped calling him sir during their meals after a few weeks and even called him Tom. Lasky had to recover quickly when the quiet "Thanks, Tom." made his face heat. Luckily the dessert he'd just given John -he got to call the Master Chief John- was enough of a distraction and he didn't mention it. The big guy had a sweet tooth and if the captain pulled a few strings to get snacks stashed on board well, who was going to tell the Master Chief no?
