Shinsou with a Sad/Depressed S/O
\\ Can you write for Shinso Hitoshi being with a sad reader? Maybe with cuddling and falling asleep together? (1/2) A/N: Hey, Anon. I actually wrote two things for this prompt, so you can expect the second one around this time next week. I apologize for being so inactive, and i'll do my best to write for y'all. On first or second encounter, Shinsou may appear aloof, cold, or even hostile at times, but he's actually a very emotional person. He's got a big, bleeding heart, but years of bullying, unwarranted discrimination and hatered gave him a heart surrounded by walls of thorns. It's taken years of hard, painful work, but he's managed to take them down.
He's no stranger to sadness. Even after achieving his lifelong dreams and proving everyone wrong, there was still that numb hollowness. Victory tasted dull behind his teeth for years, until he found reasons to continue that weren't tied to his accomplishments. One of those reasons being you.
Speaking of past experiences, it could be said that Shinsou is intimate with sadness, regardless of causation, he's felt that weight day in and day out, and he knows all the lies it tells as it saps away your vitality. All this to say that he /gets it/. He truly understands your sadness, regardless of why you're sad,or how bad it is.
He's more than understanding when it comes to how this sadness impacts your life, and he makes absolutely sure to make it so you never feel alone. If you're home together, or sometimes even at work, he'll wrap you in a long, tight hug. Expect to be pulled aside if you're slogging away at endless paperwork, or on a lunch break. He'll carve out time in his incredibly busy schedule to make sure you feel seen and loved.
Your happiness is incredibly important to him, being that you're his S/O He'll meet you where you are in regards to your love languages, be it gifts or words of affirmations. He's constantly looking out for you, and practically lives with you in mind, so you can fully expect that he's leaping at any opportunity to bring even a ghost of a smile to your face.
Shinsou's love language is definitely touch. Even though your both trust each other 100%, past experiences aren't so easy to erase. He's an 'actions speak louder than words' type of person, having experienced just how useless lip service can be. Expect frequent hand-holding, long hugs or a chaste kiss or two. His favourite places to kiss are on your forehead or on your cheek.
Practically a mind-reader when it comes to your thoughts spiraling. He'll employ every tactic to redirect your mind from it's negative path. He'd have you sit down and practive healthy coping mechanisms with him, or subtly redirect a conversation away from a senstitive topic if it was starting to affect you, though he can be more direct. Doomscrolling on social media? Too bad, you're watching documentary on the world's smallest cat. If you give him permission, he's willing to mind control you to give you some respite from the litany of negative thoughts clouding your mind.
Knows exactly how effective proper therapy can be, and is the first one to recommend you see someone. If, for some reason you cannot or will not see one, he's taking what he learned back home to help you.
If there are chores to do, he'll do them with you. Not only do tasks go much faster with another person there, having him there with you keeps your mind at least partially occupied. The seemingly endless list of things to do doesn't feel so overwhelmin anymore, but the idle chat puts a halt to all the ruminating that would happen otherwise.
If you're both home together, and you're lying somewhere, cataonic or in slug mode, he'll either come over or move you over to where he is. He's vv comfortable so more times than not, you're falling asleep. If your boss has you pulling ridiculous hours, he's pulling you away for 15-30 minutes to makes sure you're getting some shuteye by taking a nap with you. At least once a week, though, if at all possible, he makes sure that you're both in the same bed, wrapped around each other. It helps him too.
