Ever since Samael had allowed her to work at the hospital, Mercy had been spending her days there, helping with healing patient or easing the pain of those in the emergency room. It was draining work but it helped keep the angel busy, and feeling fulfilled, like she was doing something helpful at least. In her rush to leave the house that morning, she had forgotten her keys. Something that she only realised once she was back at his home. After sending a quick text message to Sam, she took a seat on the front steps to wait. 

The change from day to night brought a cool change and Mercy was left wishing she remembered a sweater as well. She was rubbing her arms, trying to stop the chill from sinking in when she noticed someone moving up the drive way. It wasn’t Samael though and she stood to greet her. 

“Are you looking for Samael?” she asked, calling out when she saw the girl approach the front door. “He’s not home at the moment,” she explained. It might also explain why she was sitting outside and shivering like a fool.
