Elder Vampire Scott, his two fledglings, and one hangry neonate. This is how ep 2 ended right?
I think the vampires are really funny I hope Shelby gets to have so much fun next episode <33 Scott's gonna revoke Pyros immortality if he steals his food again and Owen has been starving since he got here let the man EAT!
so instead of beach episode part 2 or collage au i had playground au beamed into my brain. This is less "what were the characters like as kids" and more muppet babies (or at least what i assume muppet babies was) where I just think about the characters and plot beats through a more childish lens for fun
i have lots of stupid thoughts for this au so might draw more. any thoughts/questions are welcome lol.
extra thoughts under the cut
mostly just imagined they're 5-10 years old and they met at the playground. Owen and Scott started a game of "zombie tag" rebranded as vampires and thus it begins lol
idk if Zombie Tag was a universal thing so just in case its basically normal tag except when your tagged instead of the person who tagged you becoming a normal player you instead team up. so every person tagged starts becoming a bigger and bigger team of taggers vs whoever's left.
I imagine Elle and Louis in this au are kids that had to move away for one reason or another and Avid and Owen aren't over it. Cherri goes to daycare with Apo so they'll see each other later, Apo just has to deal with these clowns for a day.
Owen is either immunocompromised in some way or else recently allowed to be outside after being really sick. So he's not used to other kids and has trouble warming up to playing.
its 2am so imma just post this and yknow maybe ill come back with more thoughts later i think theyre silly
more playground au because they're silly. can you tell i have a favourite character lol :v: Apo my beloved
Pearl and Cleo and Legs and Owen are just general dynamic vibes. All of the Apo interactions are kidified versions of things that happened tho!
Apo stealing Martyns book is obvious. The murder of truffle I think is a little less onesided, Pyro and Apo fighting over the plushie and it ripping. and then Apo and Abolish's argument about the town beacon/tower reimagined as fighting over building blocks lol
Wanted to draw some backstory vsmp characters <33 because I love them a lot!
Louis is based off of Luanne's design for him, so might workshop it a bit in the future for the outfit at least.
Obsessed with Elle I love her so much aough
Cherri admittedly is mostly based off of her Cowboys SMP character visually because it was a good reference. But I might update this if I get more context for vampries!Cherri's appearance that could be different.
Might do other characters eventually like Cleo's mom... or ugh,, yknow the main cast haha
Shelby, dramatically: this is the skin of a killer, Abolish
Abolish, deadpan: hopefully not recently. We talked about that.

thank you to @blackbatphoenix for the text and inspiration! we have fun here lol. I think this spawned from the idea of Shelby making her friends do Twilight reenactments circa 2006 and Abolish is just here to make sure things don't go off the rails. Shelby is having fun anyways lol.
Doodles of the Coven dancing with some historically inspired outfits! I'm not sure How I feel about the vamp colours so they're under the cut but I like the lineart at least!
Inspired by some convos had with some friends (ty @captain-writes for the prompts ;) )about like,,, y'know. au where the coven doesn't tear itself apart from the inside and they get to all survive and grow together and get along.
The thought was that the top row was they doing more formal dances, very much Scott's influence for having a "high class" event. In which majorscythe excels, being familiar with that sort of thing. Shelby and Drift have fun with it, and Avid/Owen are STRUGGLING.
The second row was meant to be more informal/casual/ "low class" dances. In which Avid and Shelby are more familiar and excel at. Majorscythe are indulging in, albeit flustered. And Drift gets to terrorize Owen who is both scandalized and does not want to be dancing lol. Drift deserves to terrorize him after all the shit she was put through, as a treat.
maybe ill recolour this properly at some point but me no likey :/
Having insane thoughts about Avid and Elle. In my brain they were super codependent I’m ignoring the timeline Avid proposed for his character because I think them being attacked younger and the events of vamp happening slightly older than would be possible with the “6 years ago” attack is fun.
Elle and Avid were each others everything for a long long time. I haven’t seen Avidd postmortem stream yet (forgive me it’s on my watch list) so idk if this conflicts even more with what’s canon but like,, take my hand and imagine Avid and Elle backstory as it exists in my brain
(Also ignore the fashion I was looking at 1880s kids fashion and 1890s but I probably scuffed it a bit)
They’re from a small town, not near the capital. Actually sort of local to Oakhurst in many ways, as local as other towns can be to Oakhurst. They play in the woods so often, it’s the woods Avids parents hunt in its familiar and safe and they know better than to be out too late. Until it’s dark and unlike before and they’re being attacked and both Avid and Elle find their childhood upended as Elle manages to drag her friend bleeding out back to their homes.
There’s so much blood and so much panic. Avid tended to by his mother, used to bandaging hunting wounds on her husband. And it’s supposed to be okay. Avid survived its SUPPOSED to be okay. Elles father assures they’re okay, praying with her and blessing her friends home. A long overdue promise from Elle not to go romping through the woods again. She’s so afraid that she agrees. She never wants this to happen again.
They’re supposed to move on. But Avids wound isn’t closing. They can hear is whispers between their parents as Avids blood turns a sluggish darker colour. The wound won’t heal, and it’s unlike anything the adults know how to heal. Worse are the whispers of monsters. Avid lashes out more, he’s twitchy and frightful and violent like he wasn’t before.
He doesn’t want to be. He cries and apologizes and he’s far to small to do so much damage but… there’s something wrong with him, they all know it. Elle begs her father for help. If Avids parents so used to bandaging wounds can’t fix it, and the small towns nearest doctor can’t help, and whispers of something worse, then her dad has to pray for it. He has to ask the spirits to fix him, to make him better.
Avid and Elle want it to get better, they trust their adults. But as months draw into a year and nothing is getting better they hear whispers turning from hopeful to mourning. They hear acceptance, that Avid will die from this. Worse, they hear whispers that he is becoming something else. Elles father confining his parents their son is already gone. A monster has taken him over. The best thing they can do is put him down and let him rest properly.
It’s Elle who tells him ,sneaking to Avids and afraid for his life asking if it’s true. If he’s a monster? No Avid cried, pleads that he doesn’t want to die. He he’s not different!
Elle is the one to hold him, tell him he’s her friend, monster or not. And she feels in her gut the betrayal of her father as she tells him they’re going to run away. No one here can help him and they’re giving up. Elle isn’t giving up and neither is Avid.
They’re so young, but they’re determined. Packing bags and slipping away together in the night. Skipping town and relying on flimsy hunting and scavenging skills, and the generosity of strangers for two stray kids.
They get to a city eventually. They see more doctors, non ever help. A lot of them hurt. They stop looking to the medical, they look to the holy. With cards to their chest after Elle fathers declarations they ask about monsters. About things that lurk in the night and the dark.
They become enraptured with vampires, and in what little they know and have they believe Avid has been bitten by a vampire. They arm themselves with garlic and silver and rosaries. They make stakes.
They research on their own, they move a lot. They grow up relying on on each other. No one in the world to trust but themselves. Avid throws himself into alchemy when they see the option. He experiments, he reads, he does what he can with what they can afford. Avids works on a cure. Elle works on finding monsters, hunting them. They help people, but at the forefront they help themselves.
Avid bandages Elles wounds when she comes back busted. Elle stands at Avids defence, ready to pull him along into any escape they need. They do what they need to survive.
Until it’s all to close. Avid has been treating himself, staving off his transformation for years. They dare investigate the woods from their childhood again, realizing they need a piece of their monster to understand the final lengths of their cure. Elle leaves, she comes back different. She attacks Avid, Avid believes he kills her.
He leaves for Oakhurst. Elle wakes up thinking she’s killed him. They’re both alone for the first time over a decade. Without the other.
They’re reunite after Oakhurst, when Avid rises again from his grave. When Elle ventures back to those woods to finish what they started. They’ll be different, but they’ll be together. It will be enough
