What?
Hi! Welcome to e5½, aka Doorhub, aka Only(Ceiling)Fans, my silly sideblog dedicated to imagery of beautifully weird architectural features: stairways to nowhere, abandoned buildings, impossible hallways, megastructures, and so on. I'll be accepting suggestions through asks, but please refer to the following criteria:
one feature or building at a time. you can put multiple images of the same thing in an ask, but please separate them if you have multiple architectural features to submit.
the image(s) must not contain anything raunchy or gory by human standards. ideal submissions contain no visible fauna at all, especially not humans, but an incidental critter or person in frame is acceptable.
the image(s) MUST be sourced with information about who took it (especially if it's a photo) or where it was taken (especially if it's a notable historical site, or a screenshot from a game), or who made it (if it's an original drawing / 3d model / etc). if your image is uncredited, and i can't find a source, it will not be posted here.
odd nooks and crannies are allowed and encouraged, but please don't submit anything intentionally claustrophobia-inducing.
especially trite liminal space imagery (backrooms, poolrooms, etc) is unlikely to be included, but "liminal spaces" in general are still fine to submit, we do enjoy the vibe. get creative, though!

Tag system
There are a few different kinds of tags on posts here, for easier navigation:
Source tags - where the post comes from:
#not mine - images that are reblogs and submissions
#submission - suggested by someone else
#taken by me - screenshots and photos we took
#made by me - original art we made
#from: video game
#from: real life
#from: original work
Post types:
#post type: not architecture - meta posts, primarily
#post type: textposts - posts we wrote that aren't images
#post type: non-image - relevant but non-image post
#e512 - covers all relevant image posts that aren't reblogs, plus this pinned post specifically.
#relevant reblog - not from us, but relevant to the vibe, and either posted by the artist or sufficiently credited. may include text posts.
Vibes (my opinion on the feelings something evokes):
#vibe: eerie
#vibe: creepy
#vibe: cozy
#vibe: lonely
#vibe: awe
#vibe: silly
#vibe: weird
We also have tags for different kinds of location (e.g. #interior, #exterior, #megastructure, and tags for various kinds of common room), but that list will continue to grow and probably end up too big to list here. If you're looking for a particular type of room you can type it in the search bar and maybe find it (once this blog has enough posts, of course)
There's also a #minecraft tag because that game will likely come up often in our own submissions.
Alright, that's all! Have fun! -Miley

The Ace and the King Chapter 1 💖
"Am I a lunatic?"
"No, sir," the actor said, the lie coming easily.
"You saw that display of his downstairs?" House said derisively. "Some cowboy."
The actor had seen Cooper Howard in what looked like the beginnings of a significant downward spiral. He empathized with him, dealing with House directly was not for the faint of heart under ideal circumstances, let alone world-altering ones. The poor bastard was in over his head before he became one of the terrible chosen few.
The actor unbuttoned his jacket and rested his hands on his hips, letting out a quiet scoff.
"Guy needs to look inward," the actor said.
House closed his eyes and nodded.
"Precisely," House said, turning toward him. "My god, are you armed?"
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
House was intensely focused, his eyes darting across the various screens as he made adjustments to the equipment. The actor observed him as he worked, as he often did.
"Are you comfortable?" House asked, securing a helmet studded with electric diodes onto the actor's head.
House was quiet on the floor of the lab entrance, lying next to the structure that was meant to contain cold fusion. The soft, orange glow of the machine illuminated shards of broken glass littered around the control room.
"Sir?" the actor ventured.
House groaned deeply, pressing his face into the metal scaffolding. The actor could see himself drawn into that pit of despair, but he fought hard against it. He didn't come this far to lose. He'd bet it all.
"A significant setback," the actor told him.
"It's over," House said, his voice despondent.
The actor crouched down to look House in the face. If the time for winning had past, then the goal was to break even.
"We are not going to be outplayed by someone who stars in pictures with a fucking dog, do you hear me?"

also another wip for House4House, "Gentleman Caller" ☎🔥😏
The actor returned to his hotel room and took off his jacket and tie, taking advantage of the brief window of respite. He dialed the number he had thoroughly memorized and House picked up before the first ring ended.
"Robert. You're alone?"
"I'm all yours, sir," he answered.
Another sigh of frustration from House, like a steam valve under too much pressure.
"What can I do for you?" the actor pressed.
"What I want is not so easily attainable, you understand."
"I do." He brought the phone to the bed, navigating the cord around a side table. "The few times I've sought some company while I've been here, I've ended up back in my room alone. They're all so dull compared to you."
"I could be there by tomorrow night," House told him.
