12: Flounder joined my tree in 2015, after Van and I were married in April of the same year. Our first married Christmas. Flounder is the only ornament Van had of his own, where I had nearly a full tree’s worth. Don’t get me wrong, his family loves Christmas and the decorations and traditions that go along with it, he just didn’t have his own collection of ornaments. A perfect reminder that every family has their own traditions AND as a newly married couple, there is a level of “navigation” around the holidays.
