People always compliment me when they see me lettering by hand, expressing how impressed and daunted they are by the act. I usually just take the compliment, but really, it's not too hard of a skill once you know what you're doing.
So as someone with terrible handwriting, I thought I'd share a couple pages from How Comics Work by Dave Gibbons and Tim Pilcher, Which offer some good advice on how to tackle the mentality around lettering by hand. (Also my first lettering attempts were based very much on the font displayed on the right-hand side.)
