How dare she imply they are even!
Do you remember that night on the balcony when we looked up at the moon? I said a prayer to Metia and that prayer was answered. You came back to me. The heavens must have a plan for us.
Look…. Don’t get me wrong…. I love love this picture of Barbatos…
BUUTTTT
It’s not THIS
Or THIS
DEVS, SHIRTLESS BARB WHEN??
And the dialogue for it isn’t even personal/flirty at all! I miss the old OM where he talked about kissing every inch of our bodies in his devilgram instead of not even getting so much as a kiss for his recent UR+.
ARGH.
I diagnose you with baby.

SdL - mafin edit only with subs, Parte 8
Viva la vida!
This compilation deals with Fina's freedom to choose (also see Parte 7). Esther wants her to choose Paris (= Esther, err, to live a life that has fewer restrictions). Marta wants Fina to choose what she wants (at first). Dun dun, this does not bode well for #mafin.
Esther comes to the shop to chat with Fina, but she finds Marta instead. During their polite chit chat, Esther casually let's it drop that she's made it in the world, working in a famous French gallery, which is a far cry from stuffy Toledo aka Perfumería de la Reina.
She graciously provides Marta with a contact to a friend who might be able to help sell the dlR products in aforementioned gallery.
(I can't really grasp here whether Marta is more surprised about someone from the working class rising up, or that Esther is patronising her.)
Esther makes a point about how wonderful it is to finally be herself, and that Fina decided to follow her to Paris.
Enter Fina. She is somewhat flustered about this close encounter of the third kind (yup, the level of gayness rose to 💯 in that moment). Marta saves her from this awkwardness by congratulating her on her new job opportunity in Paris. (Interestingly, she falls in line with Esther's insinuation that such a provincial perfumery has nothing to offer for Fina. As if!)
That's apparently news to Fina who is quick to say that nothing is decided yet. Marta excuses herself from this scene. Fina is not very happy about Esther's intervention. She needs more time to consider the implications of such a move (her father's old age, her roots, yadda yadda).
Esther flat out tells her that she won't wait for her forever, and off she goes. (That's quite rich for someone who just reappeared five seconds ago, and left Fina behind before!)
Esther visits Marta in her office for another intervention (Marta's 'what are YOU doing here' was hilarious.)
She tells Marta that she needs her help in convincing Fina to do the right thing. Fina values Marta's opinion, so might listen to her if Marta is in favour of Paris. (Uh, huh!)
Marta somehow feels the need to play down her 'friendship' with Fina (lol), then argues that Fina is her own woman, and that she should decide about her own fate.
Esther brings out the big guns by telling Marta that Fina doesn't know what she wants (tsk tsk). Esther wants Fina to live her life to the fullest, which is NOT possible in little Toledo. She would end up bitter and alone if she stays (or alternatively in bloody exile in Argentina, blergh). Also the gossip she would have to endure if she's not married by the age of X. Marta must understand this (...only too well, based on her facial expression right there).
(I'd like to understand when Esther became such an expert on Marta, what did Fina write in all those letters? Or was she always this manipulative?)
The preview lets us know that Marta indeed tries to talk Fina into accepting this once in a lifetime offer 🤷🏾♀️.
Elsewhere in the show: Poor Claudia is still not feeling it, and asks Marta for a transfer. She also keeps up with the indigestion story. Marta plays along and is very empathetic towards Claudia. Later on we get a jefa scene where Marta disapproves of Elena's initiative for making unwanted changes in her made up job in the warehouse (it's just for 'show', just 'do nothing but professionally', so spiteful). The Luz/Blanca plot gets picked up again by Luis, who asks his cousin Marta to help unravel whatever mystery surrounds them.
My job here is done. Redemption is always possible! Remember that my friends!!!! *Flies away into the sunset*
