Today’s pet peeve: When the oppressed/colonised are portrayed as evil because ‘civilians’ got hurt when they fought back and we’re supposed to side with the colonisers because An Innocent Kiddie Was Hurt.
Like, no. Coloniser you are the one who deliberately brought your kid into a warzone.
~Oh but they thought it wasn’t a warzone anymore. The war is over/ the colonising was years ago, it was peaceful now!~
Mm hm. Okay. So what you’re saying is you thought it wasn’t a warzone anymore because your side had murdered enough indigenous people to steal their homes without issue.
I’m sorry TV shows I won’t be sympathising with this coloniser’s loss. Not for an entire parade of dead kids.
