red: is it hard for you to think up new ideas? list three of your biggest influences.
Sometimes it can be pretty hard to think of something funny and within my skill range. Most of the time ideas come to me from talking to my brothers or friends. My biggest influences for my humor I put in videos at least are classic cartoons I watched when I was growing up, stuff like Ren & Stimpy, Freakazoid, and Animaniacs.
green: how do you flesh out an idea? does it take a long time, do you mull over it for hours, or does it come easily? describe the process!
Most of the time I'll get a small idea and try to expand upon it. I usually don't write things down in detail, which can be a problem if I want to work on the video later. The process is basically I get an idea, either jot down the idea or sometimes just get straight to work, or talk about it with my brothers and friends for a bit to get some more ideas, see what's funny and what's not. Then after getting the basics of things down, I get started. I don't do storyboarding or anything like that, and I animate things all kinds of wrong, if a real animator saw my process they'd probably have a heart attack. But it works for me. Sometimes I'll change ideas on the fly while working on the video, something that would be funnier or work better. I never seem to stick to exactly what I say will happen.
I'm gonna assume this is an addendum to the previous question on the list: "what is your least favorite part of the creative process?".
I'd say the least favourite is working on it, sometimes. My biggest problem is I like to get things done, and because of that sometimes I rush. If something's not working right and it's taking up a lot of time to fix it frustrates me and I'll usually do something else for a little while.
